Hey dchang…maybe I can but in here…as I have 2M1s and 1 Purple.
The M1s reside in P15, the other in my JC5 power amp, the Purple
in my W4S Stage 2 pre.
I could characterize the sound quality ranging from highly detailed
treble, where decaying notes trail off like a vapour into the distance,
while mids are so detailed with vocals very rich but not boomy, bass
tight yet full with ground swell blooming as the music calls for it…
Can also characterize the sound as quick and snappy immediate.
With recordings whose music I really appreciate that sadly have
overly heated emphasized treble that sizzles, now seem to sound like
like eggs frying…meaning somewhat toned down…when this lousy
poorly part of the music “dies away” and the trac conitnues with very
beautiful awesome music…
Listening to Telarc’s Seiji Ozawa conducting the Boston Symphony’s
performance of Beethoven’s 5th…there are quiet passages that
appear much further back than ever before…while the rest of the
symphony orchestra is closer up…The illusion feels like you are in
the hall experiencing what it would have been like to sit about
mid hall almost as if seeing the performers all the way in the back
of the venue…
For me all this is truly amazing what 3 little ole wires in a fuse will
do…
Would love to hear this recording on some of you all’s gear…would
be utterly amazing…
Thanks for the sum up. I have 2 M-1s plus a Purple too; the system sounds about optimal. Of course, I have had that feeling before a few times (too many times actually). I am waiting for Luca for his three M-1s. That may give us some ideas if that will be an even better combination (I hope not).
Oh, so that’s the problem sunny side up or nothing but scrambled…
But that gives Ted Denney or Audio Magic opportunity to devise a
corrective upgrade to unscramble the eggs and cool off the frying pan
so there is no more sizzling eggs…

I only describe them like I hear them. Perhaps It was dinner of corned beef and cabbage with hot pickled kimchi on the side to sustain the hot sizzle escaping through their chaps?
Vmax … which Thorlab footers did you use? It’s not clear from your description.
You list the AV4 in the original post and then later on you mention you used AV5.
So unclear which is the best to use?
I have A5 under the power cord. I have had AV5 under the P20. I had one tear leaning over the P20 doing power cord trials and upped P20 to AV6 a few months s back. There are graphs on the site to choose right weight compliance. I have AV4 under a smaller amp.
The big question is when Al is going to try the P20 power cord and P20 sorbothane footers rweak. The M-1 fuses are minor compared with the additive effects. He will be dusting off his Supertramp library shortly after. Lol
