My US P3 is under 2yrs old, unless new ones use a 5amp, I would go with the spec of 2A small, slow blow, and call PSA, they happily send out a replacement.
Could be referring to P15? ![]()
I was relying on the manual, perhaps dangerous to do.
It’s a PerfectWave P3 which is quite a bit ‘beefier’ than the Stellar P3. Fuse size is 5A, small, slo. I’ve had a SR Purple in there now for a while ;^ )
My bad, You did say PerfectWave, sorry all around, Elk is correct on the 5A.

Thanks!
Guys it is a simple matter…pull out original fuse…
look at the value ratings printed on the end cap…
The only hard part is the need of a magnifying glass
to make the small print legible…and use that value as your reference.
That should answer all questions…
I think…
Best wishes y’all
Well that’s what I eventually did, however, rear access to some systems isn’t all that easy…in fact it can be quite difficult. Plus it involves having to power everything down that’s connected to the power plant, magnifying glass as mentioned. Much easier to just ask here where someone is likely to give a quick, painless answer ;^ )
How would you rate the SR Purple on sq used in the PW P3 ? I’m getting the impression the SR Purple’s best use is regenerator first? thanks Rob
Well when it comes to a power regenerator, since A/B’ing a fuse involves having to power the entire system down and back up multiple times, I am kind of hesitant to do that kind of comparison. By the time everything is powered back up at least 10 minutes has passed and maybe there’s another warm up period that would be beneficial, and maybe your brain loses some receptivity in the process, so doing a direct comparison is rather difficult. I just go on faith that I’ve got a killer fuse that’s very likely offering at least a little improvement. My system sounds great so I’m just going to leave it in there.
Rob my apologies to you and all my forum family…for not
reading through and consider before replying…
Best wishes
We’re cool ;^ )
Mag-light APP works wonders, seems to be more and more useful the older I get. Hmm…
We are too young for that…

I put a Purple fuse in my P3. I ordered it just days before reading in another thread that Purple fuses suck and everybody who is anybody is using an M-1 fuse.
Oh, well, that’s life.
After close to 200 hours of break in, I am hearing a bit more clarity to the sound. Not a huge improvement, but welcome nonetheless.
I just opened my Marantz SACD 30n and found that the fuse is hidden beneath a circuit board. Changing it is obviously not a job for an amateur.
The fuse in my Marantz Model 30 is barricaded a bit, but I think I can get to it with the right tools. I’ll try to remove it this weekend to see its specs. Then maybe I’ll replace it with an M-1 so I can join the in crowd. ![]()
The purples don’t suck. I still have two. They do have some synergy with M-1. Most that like M-1 have bigger Regenerators. Nobody has chimed in using M-1 on P-3.
I am soon to place an M-1 in a Power Plant 12 and I’ll tell you how it turns out.
Yeah, I was just exaggerating a little. If I can get an M-1 into my Marantz amp, I can test the synergy theory.
Ok, so I put the new Audio Magic Masterpiece M-1 in my Power Plant 12 and as promised here’s what I think. It’s to me a worthwhile upgrade and I’m keeping it in the P12. The soundstage seems to expand in all directions and the detail and clarity of each passage or instrument has improved. My test has always been…are you hearing things you’ve never heard before or as you’ve never heard them before? Yes, so it passes in my system.
If you are wondering which to order, the original fuse is a 5 amp but I ordered a 6.3 amp from Cable Co which has been a great vendor so far. Mine was dropped shipped to me from Audio Magic and it was a fast delivery. Here’s what I got:
Masterpiece M-1
6.3 A
Short size
Slow Blow
I think we should have a Topic dedicated to this fuse because there are so many using this fuse and people are posting all over the original posting to the Purple Fuse and the Next Upgrade Topic and others. If the mods start a Topic for the Audio Magic Masterpiece M-1 I’ll copy these over there.
Good news on your M1 fuse…’
Question for you are you using sine wave or multi wave in your
P12’s settings…
These give different presentations…
