When it power cycles (uncommanded), it goes through the IniP3 during the restart like it’s trying to upload a firmware update (but there is no USB stick), then it decides to just turn back on again. It’s annoying because every reboot means another on-off cycle on my Kaleidescape servers, and my whole network crashes (because these are powered by the P3).

It is not supposed to power cycle like that, But the IniP3 message is normal on boots.

I achieve to update 0.00.15 firmware with the 4th usb stick…
Tried with these usb sticks:
Corsair 128Mb: Nok
Corsair 2Gb: Nok
Emtech 4Gb: Nok
Sandisk cruzer blade 32Gb: OK!
Files used:
http://updates.psaudio.com/powerplant3/11-065-01-X-FMC-15-9999.zip file
(given by Dennis Kerrisk on this topic)
Procedure:
Format USB stick (FAT32) & unpack files from archive
Power off P3 (back switch)
Insert USB stick.
Power on P3 (back switch).
Immediately, blue PS AUDIO logo is flashing for about 1 minute, no display, fans make noise and slow down several times, you can ear several clicks (relays) then rebooting as always.
Power off P3.
Remove USB stick.
Go to powerplay/control/refresh->it would be written firmware 0.00.15 instead of 0.00.12
If a french guy can help
‘Has anyone had any success applying the .15 Firmware update to a P3? I haven’t seen anything in the Forums that suggests anyone has come up with a solution (dating back to 2012), and like others’ experiences, PS support has been unresponsive
Sorry to revive and old thread but I am having no luck updating my firmware as well from 0.10 to 0.15. I’ve tried 2 different USB sticks with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
