They do, although mine has not shipped to me yet (ordered on weekend).
I ordered my Inakustik Excellence Cat 6 from eBay long time ago. It also took awhile to ship from Germany. The Excellence is very inexpensive, but not bad sounding, a little on the warm side and not as detailed as my WW. Haven’t try the Reference though.
@luca.pelliccioli, if you’re thinking about a power cord for the UEF switch, the UEF Galileo Power Cord is a perfect match. I tried a UEF Galileo power cord once, I ended up getting three, it’s that impressive! Don’t bother with the lower Atmosphere line though. My brother bought over an Atmosphere and it’s not too impressive. It’s got active shielding and you can tune the sound of the shielding with tuning bullets that comes with the cord. I have never heard such transparency from a power cord as the Galileo. Of course make sure you can return the cord if you don’t like it, in case it does not work in your system, it is rather expensive.
Thank you, before buying new expensive power cords I’m curious to know if my spare expensive and excellent AQ High Current Dragon can be used with the SR switch.
It is designed for variable current gear as amplifiers, regenerators but also linear power supplies. Is it appropriate for the SR switch.
I know for sure that for instance the other AQ Constant Current Dragon Source must never be used with amplifiers, regenerators or conditioner because of its inherently design it isn’t able to manage peaks and variable AC requests of power. As stated on the AQ website it would potentially cause damage to this powerful gears.
But on the contrary, the more robust AQ HC Dragon power cable what happen if used to feed power to a less demanding current unit like the SR Switch?
Any idea from you expert members?
I have purchased parts from Don Audio. They shipped quickly and everything each time has arrived safely and within a reasonable time frame.
Thank you VMax, next days your priorities are recovery and recharging energies so please take care of you first. All the best!
It’s no problem, the SR switch does not draw much current like a power amp. You can use whatever cord you like. I usually use high current power cords even with my low current source components simply because HC cords sounds better.
I briefly used the Dragon HC for BHK pre when I compared it to Stealth Dream V10, and it’s sounded great. and my Pre is still working fine.
I’m tempted to use the SR Fundamental Ethernet cable included from RJ45 wall socket (router) to the SR switch and adding a new one (or two due to upcoming AirLens) higher performance ethernet cable to be used from the SR Switch to the MacMini (and to the AirLens).
InAkustik Referenz CAT7 cable is affordable (less than 200 US$).
SR Galileo is too much expensive (3000 US$) and without other members endorsement I prefer pass, no possibilities to return from sellers here in EU.
AQ Diamond is expensive (1000 US$ what the hell we are talking about ethernet cables!) but I’m already full loom experienced with AQ top lines (Dragon PCs, XLRs and HDMIs) so I’m used to get best results with this brand since a few months.
Do ethernet cables matter? I read some thread here and is a controversial discussion.
Food for thoughts awaiting the AirLens arrival and I want purchase both the 2 ethernet cables needed (now for MacMini, next for AL) of the same brand/model.
Anyone experienced comparisons between the cables above mentioned?
The Referenz all the way. I tun two i think I was first to use these. I have a ethernet cable thread. Galen likes the Cat 5B. he designed, others liked it better. The Referenz has better separation and details sounds real and live .
I did not run it up against more expensive cables. If it did not do everything Inakustik described. I’d look elsewhere They design with vibration isolation and EMI. I bought it for design attributes matched for audio not data. . Jay at Audio Bacon did listen test. Did not trial Inakustik. But he liked CAT7A best like Referenz. I tried other 7As. Referenz was best.
I stated before I was not sure if Ethernet makes a difference, in fact I know they do and the one closest to the streamer is the most important one. In my case the SOtM Iso-Cat7 filter comes with a short piece of their Cat7 cable. When I replaced it with a cheaper one the SQ degraded drastically.
However, the ethernet cable after the filter made a less impact to my ears, but it still matters. That is why I want to tryout Inakustik Ref. 7 (Using a Supra Cat8 now) that is reasonably priced. I do not know how soon I will receive it, and I have no idea how much break-in time is needed either.
The Referenz cables bought from europe all ship direct from the factory I found. It is like the AQ Dragon. Or M-1 Fuse
I have owned, and still own most of the Ethernet cables mentioned here. They are still in use in my system. I cannot say I have ever heard a difference in sound switching one Ethernet cable for another. I reject worrying about Ethernet cables. And I am now aware that Stealth Audio is making Ethernet cables. I’m not going to bite that apple.
That is probably it has not ship out yet.
Al’s ultra high-end system may have blocked out all noises which makes little sonic difference in cables. The rest of us will continue with the tweaking games.
Apparently so. He is closer to magnetic North and it negates tin foil hat’s effectiveness and his ethernet is jitter free to boot. But not fuses? I converted him with a gift fuse to the dark side. There is still hope perhaps.
Sounds like many folks will have fun A-B testing different coloured ethernet cable with the AirLens
I can’t imagine how hard is for you Al this assumption, sorry for that!
Inakustik Referenz CAT7 ordered, thank you guys!
Me too, but about 30 years. Very boring, can’t bear to throw them out. Keep the old ones for gardening!
Well, the audiophile cost center of the household budget is actually outpacing the clothing cost center the last couple years. But still nothing compares with the horse cost center.
PS: My son just passed through the home town of Don Audio on his way to work today. Next door to his workplace is a DHL distribution center. Shame… maybe he could have collected the internet cables for you all
My wife and I like Tods too, but a number of them closed near our area for sometime. After retirement my go to is Nike. I know! Not in the same class but they’re good for hiking and golfing.
