Have you tried to compare the original Qstab clamp with the new black pro version on your CDT3-3? I’m trying to justify the upgrade on my CDT3-3 with original Qstab.
Thanks for your time,
Kurt

And it turns out they use the same symbol $ for their dollars.
I am sorry I added to the confusion.
No biggie Elk!
I just went thru the process again and it does not convert to USD. I sent a note.

Go here. They are another of Alvin’s companies and the actual Jay’s distributor. The code also works on their site. Also reach out to Todd at Tek Specialties as he will likely match the discount. Tell him you are a member here.
I went through Beatechnik also and Alvin is great to do business with…
I bought one from Beatechnik before there was a US distributor and one from Todd at Tek Specialties. Service is good for both and as he is also the US Service Center I try now to buy from Todd in Texas when I can.
All of those folks are awesome. Alvin is as good as it gets.
I noticed that as well.
The exchange rate is 0.73:
CDT3 Mk3 $S6,749 = $4,940 with 4.49% promo = $4,718.94
CDT2 Mk3 $S3,394 = $2,484.27 with 4.49% promo = $2,372.73
You may want to email Alvin at Vinshine with any questions. He has returned my emails within one business day.
Todd at Beatchnik is most helpful as well, I don’t know if the promo code applies.
Thanks but it’s already en route.
Excellent and hopefuly you enjoy it as much as I do.
Good to wait on the Qstab while the CDT settles. I still think it definitely adds a nice bit to the fidelity. Quality AC cables do add too but try what you are used to using first. I hope you like it again. Perfect for you since you usually play many albums vs CDs and went thru all the hell of rearranging for top load.
Thank you for that. We are in agreement about “upgrades”. I take a long time to absorb the fundamentals of a component before I change anything and then it’s strictly one step at a time.
@Clarity, which AC PC are you currently using? Is it powering a CDT2 or CDT3?
I had to look. The power cable is an Anticables 3 and it works so well I haven’t moved it. The owner is local and he’s a good and helpful guy. I have a CDT2 I’ve had for around 4 years or so. It got the later upgrades installed before I received it and after the PS Audio MK2 Blue Sky upgrade the CDT2 sounds even better.
So much for that notion. I would have picked up that Qstab as well. Certainly you will enjoy it. ![]()
I have the Qstab with the CDT3 as well as the provided CD clamp. The boney thing seems to work fine. Never compared them. I usually blindly follow more expensive, after-market alternatives as being better. They have to be, right? ![]()
I’m pleased with it. Might enjoy it more if it was priced in the four figure range. I have yet to determine where to insert the fuse upgrade. ![]()
@RonP: Congrats on your transport purchase. I am running a Jay’s CDT2 Mk3 with the stock clamp and I do not feel the need to upgrade the transport or the clamp. And I use a relatively inexpensive coaxial digital cable to my DAC (Belden “BAV” 4694P from Iconoclast) that I feel punches WAY above its weight:
