If you can, get the Headquarter QStab. It makes a pretty good difference with the CDT2 and since you rearranged and inconvenienced yourself, the I2S is another good idea plus the CDT is much easier on the body. I think you had one once so you know all this. My CDT is preschool age now and it’s still one of my faves. Get the Pass and the CDT nice and steamed up and see how well that top load drawer is engineered. Always sounds great.
I was ready to add the Qstab to my order, but then I saw the price and thought surely I can live without it.
Any feedback from CDT2, MK3 owners re. power cable influence?
One other kinda funny thing I noticed when I received my CDT is first it was really well packed, bathed in yellow orange packing tape and in the top of the box was about a zillion sheets of blank copy paper. Who knows why? As it was, a D9 could have run over it and dragged from the western seaboard to Minnesota. The remote is the Fort Knox Autograph Model (weight and hogged out from an ingot).
Yes the variable sized cardboard sleeves can be problematic. When done well I do prefer them Jewel cases are bulky and the disc retaining fingers have a tendency to fail.
@mark-d did you also own the original Qstab chuck? Wondering if the black/pro version is a worthwhile upgrade from the standard white version.
Thanks,
Kurt
Hi Kurt. I did not own the white Qstab.
Happy cake day! @mitchb105
I went with these to replace my zipper cases. They work nice I still have to buy a couple more. I’m not sure if I will ever listen to the CD’s again but they are there just in case.
The sleeves hold the front and back portions of the Jewel case contents.
Here is the link to Snap fit trays and sleeves.
Here you go @RonP no top load!
This one is more affordable.
I do regret not storing my vinyl system and collection… SME turntable, 3000 albums, shoulda stored when I moved overseas… but now, when I listen to Qobuz on my Innuos or an SACD through my DSD MK1, I completely forget about vinyl and won’t go back.
Having both the latest does provide for an improvement, better sense of space, and slight improvement noted in the lowest frequencies.
Sadness. Those 3000 records probably could use some attention and love.
@weedeewop Thanks for the feedback. Are you spinning your discs on the Jay’s CDT3 Mk3? May need to save up for that very cool looking black clamp.
I have both in separate systems in different locations. A CDT2 Mk3 with original Qstab at our seasonal home, and a new CDT3 Mk3 with the latest QStab at our primary residence. Happy with both but the new Jay’s and QStab are a noticeable improvement.
A mere bag of shells…
Just received an end of year email from Vinshine Audio. The email indicated a strong probability of 2025 price increases, no details, further impacted by potential import tariffs. I believe Ron may have already pulled the trigger. Those on the fence may want to consider a purchase sooner than later.
Quoting Vinshine:

I went to the Vinshine site when I was looking for the Jay’s and they no longer offer prices in USD.
Odd as they display $USD for me
They use Singapore dollars onsite then convert to USD at checkout…
