You bet, my pleasure.
At that short of a length 0.5M I’m assuming you have the PST and May Dac stacked ??
Correction 1m, not half a meter, they sit on different shelves, I would never even think of stacking them
I will be making a May dac purchase soon !!
Thanks !!
You’re going to be amazed by what you hear
Swap the WW for the RAL and you’ll be happier then you are now !!
Oh crap, I’m lost again. Can somebody tell me what bus I should take to get back to the isolation footers thread?
I placed three IsoAcoustics Iso-puck 76 under the PST. and these are rated 80 pounds weight each so it is overkill but I found them really make the PST shine. I placed Orea under the DAC and Pre too. But it seems PST benefits from these big footers more.
I called Bruce Richardson and placed an order for 8 sets of VooDoo Cable Iso-Pods. He gave me a very nice discount! I should get them by Thursday or Friday. The 8 sets won’t be enough to cover all my components but I’ll play around and find where they are most effective. In addition to using them for the PST, I’ll try them under my vacuum tube components (pre, power and phono stage), my turntable maple plinth, power conditioner, DAC and its power supply. I also just read an interesting interview of Bruce on line by TAS.
FedEx was supposed to deliver my PST on Saturday but it didn’t arrive. Delivery status is pending.
FedEx. When it absolutely positively has to be there sooner or later.
In my case, it’s later … FedEx tracking updated delivery from Saturday to Tuesday. 5 business days to go from Boulder to metro Detroit.
FedEx ground really doesn’t have a specific delivery date with any package. It’s designed to be economical for shipper and receiver but at the expense of speed. Most people don’t know that and I found out the hard way like many others have. For my money UPS is much better at being on time at least in my part of the ‘hood.
Has anyone tried the Herbie’s Tenderfoot? I was thinking about giving them a try for my Oppo transport.
I tried 3 sets of the Tenderfoot a couple of years ago - and returned them. I found that they were similar in performance to VibraPods (with cones) but within a few days the sound degraded so my theory is that they hardened. I took my time changing back to the VibraPods - one component at a time for a few days. Once all the Tenderfeet had been replaced, my system sounded great again. However, I did not try them under a transport (was using a server at the time). I had them under a P12 regenerator, a DS DAC, and a Moon amp. My gear is on a home built shelving unit, constructed with double layer baltic birch plywood, so it is solid but probably has a touch of resonance. IMO the performance of isolation products will depend on what they are placed on! More recently I bought the latest PS Audio transport and I tried it initially on the factory rubber feet and soon added VibraPods. Any transport will benefit from isolation - you have to experiment with various products depending on your budget.
I received my VooDoo Cable Isopods on Thursday and I’ve been trying them under different components. I tried 3 of them under my new PST and I heard a nice improvement in image clarity, soundstage and bass definition. I have 4 of them under my power amp, and 3 under my preamp with excellent results. The only component that I didn’t like them under was my turntable plinth. I have a Rega P10 sitting on a Butcher Block Acoustics maple platform. I tried 4 Isopods under the plinth, but after a day of listening to LPs, I removed them and put back the rubber and cork footers that came with the platform. Under the TT plinth, it made the sound a bit etched/fatiguing and less musical.
After I removed the Isopods from the plinth, I tried them under my tube phono stage and my P10 power supply. Here they made a major improvement in my analog setup. I’m definitely happy that I purchased the Isopods and thank you for the recommendations.
