I am excited. I have been told by various people that the Schnerzinger sockets are supposed to outperform the Furutech NCF. Apparently I’ll have to change my socket soon. But I’ll wait for your assessment. I was told that the surface-mounted and recessed sockets wouldn’t make any difference in sound.
We sometimes get discordant infos Andreas, I think yours are more accurate coming from the headquarter even though mines come from the person who promotes the brand all over the world. Wired!
The wall surface, I was told, works better because creates a “closed box” less prone to interferences and more able to provide the “magic” of Schnerzy material.
Anyway, not a big problem at all. I’ll be able to compare them with my current Furutech NCF. Stay tuned.
Which wall surface do you mean? The normal built-in socket? I could choose both options since I only laid the cable on the wall later.
The inner workings of the connection are identical.
Today’s thoughts, expressed here, strike me as a whole lot of foolishness. Thinking a PowerZone has any similarities to magic bowls is a nonsensical reach. What next? Grilled cheese sandwiches?
The power zone could be a type of microwave. Maybe putting on an Alu hat.
Yet more foolishness.
I have probably stayed on this forum too long. It seems to be following America to needless doom.
If you have sockets in the wall, you would only need to replace the insert. The surface-mounted housing is made of plastic and offers no other advantages other than the fact that it can be surface-mounted. The Schnerzinger socket is a Gira model that has only been slightly edited and changed. The frames for mounting Gira fit 1:1.
Yes. I would never of known Gryphon or Stealth if it wasn’t for @aangen. I’m a 100% believer in both companies. If you can’t swing the Stealth financially then the Gryphon Vanta is also a fine cable that not often but sometimes will surface on the audio classifieds for as low as $2k for 1.5m I believe they meet or exceed Audioquest dragon IMO I have a Vanta on the ethos and Diablo 300 a Stealth Dream V16 on the power zone. If and when possible I will try to go all Stealth I can’t say I’ve heard anything better again IMO
Me, too! I have to thank @aangen for driving me to these (and other) products that I wouldn’t have even heard of.
I have to thank the man just for being himself–he’s a truly generous and helpful person with a great sense of humor–he’s one fine reason to be here.
My ice cream sundae is now spoiled.
Hunter S. Thompson said it best, ….
Not what was that?
I’m glad I’m still on vacation so I can skip the last 100 posts here. While on vacation my head is clearer, and realizing that this is how some audiophiles could doom themselves into an endless loop looking for the SQ holy grail (does not exist of course).
I hereby declare I’m cured and will spend all my funds on vacations from now on. That can be another addition by itself.
Enjoy your vacation and stay away from this forum.
I can summarize hundreds of posts for you: no eclatante news about gear, 333 is still your lucky number!
Uh huh.
You could go @Baldy on us.
Baldy disappeared without saying goodbye, I will give plenty of hints ahead (wait, I’m doing that now). I like Vince’s approach better, bring in other interesting hobbies like coffee and rice.
On this nice vacation I have been thinking: Would I be as happy as now if I had all PSA lineup, all iconoclast ICs and SCs, plus AQ Dragon PCs? Don’t get me wrong, I know MU2 and PZ are sounding superior, and I know a bunch cable changes also improve the SQ more. But will I enjoy the music less without the above change? Of course not as most already knew here. The only question is how soon will you reach an equilibrium point that the good is good enough? I’m getting there soon. Without reading this forum I already passed my goal a while ago😆
I really need to schedule a trip to Japan.
