The look is interesting for sure. However, set up in a typical living room may be problematic, what with the side and rear firing drivers. Given the disparate driver materials and alignments, I cannot imagine how these could be time and phase coherent.
Very functional if not beautiful look. The legs remind me of one of those 4 legged robots crawling across the room. LOL
Well, to be fair, I do think that if it were matching material, I wouldn’t spend much time looking at the feet of the speakers. I have massive, arguably ugly Anchor stands under my Harbys, and I don’t think about them.
Why add an unusual, distinctive base if the intent is to have them disappear? Ornamentation should add to the overall design, not be something to hide. Industrial design is its own discipline and this looks amateurish, which it is.
It does seem to be polarizing. Fortunately it should be a relatively easy fix, if needed, vs. the cabinet.
Not a fan of it either…ymmv It seems to miss an esthetic curb appeal somehow…
Do you still expect the price to be under $20K?
what is the projected weight of each of the boxes?
will they still have the adjustment to allow placement near the rear wall?
thanks

Super cool, looking forward to listening to these soon, hopefully you are going to this year CA The Show.
How do leveling adjustment work with this leg design? Looks very costraint to me and adding leveling screw would mess up to overall aesthetic. I’m voting for the simple outriggers instead. MHO.
My perspective and opinion. Buying a very expensive loudspeaker that’s purportedly designed to the nth degree, to deliver the utmost in performance, the loudspeaker support has be integral to the overall design philosophy and not seen as an accoutrement! But that’s only my feelings…
To be flexible is a virtue!
Well, the story from “impossible to make real bass without servo” (while other manufacturers said or if you will proved, it’s also somehow possible otherwise) to “if we manage to achive it without, it’s fine without” is just a documentation of temporary awareness, that’s ok
But I also got, this chassis is special…and it looks so. Would be interesting if it is now cheaper without servo or more expensive. Even if more expensive as non servo, is it better then, because less susceptible or because servo controlled chassis have known disadvantages in general?
If something like the Isoacoustics Gaia feet (eliminating tiny speaker movements) make much sense, which is what I understood from many feedbacks here…wouldn’t it make sense to have the woofers …if at the sides (which makes sense according to looks)…then in parallel left and right? So better two smaller/cheaper ones in parallel than a single one at one side?
The stool that went with the chairs from the listening room in the old building. Clearly an inspiration.
I love the look of the new speaker. Personally, I have never bought a speaker based on looks.
First time on the forum but big fan. Paul I think the style of the base and the brass accents has very limited appeal. I am sure you remember the Danish modern style from the 60s! Sure looks like the
base came from that era. Just my thoughts!
Probably right at $20K best I can tell from now. Yes, the distance from the wall adjustment definitely still there. Important feature.
I don’t yet know the weights. The bottom’s certainly heavier, but the top’s likely under 100 pounds. It has a cool slide locking mechanism that’ll make it easy to assemble and disassemble.
Here’s a couple of snapshots with the grilles off.
Welcome to the forums! Thanks for posting. I appreciate the comments. It’s definitely a throwback but in a more modern way. We’ll see. Problem is, opinions will be all over the map no matter what we do.
Thanks, Mark!
You’re welcome, Bill!
Love the new look minus the stands. The two just don’t fit together. And this is coming from somebody who’s doesn’t generally care about looks.
Boy, some of you who are flinging insults around, implying that the design is incoherent, or “amateurish.” Wow.
I get that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, as the wood is in contrast with the more industrial look of the cabinets. It’s very MCM, and I tend to gravitate to that. (Design within reach, etc…)
I know PSA can take care of themselves and don’t need random forum members to defend them. But, instead of insults, maybe share constructive ideas about options for the base. Maybe they’re already thinking of options that are more “traditional” for this speaker; less “organic.” And it would be cool for the buyer to choose color/finish and base options.
Personally, I like the wood, but a brushed aluminum option would look cool, too.
But, the sound’s the thing, right?
