SR Purple Fuses still good?

Just wondering if people are still purchasing and using SR purple fuses as there are many “new and improved” fuses although at a higher price. I have a full loom of SR Purple fuses in my system and my system sounds good but I wonder if the Purple fuse is outdated. All that said my system sounds good but…

According to many here, the Purple fuses have been bested by the new top of the line Synergistic Research and Audio Magic fuses et al.

In my case I replaced Purples and Audio Magic M1 with these in three components:

A more expensive option as they require an additional power cable (I had exact pairings on hand so that was not a cost for me) but. . . really a better sounding signature from using these than the fuses in my system, and you can roll the Sluggo fuse replacements in a way that one might roll tubes to great effect.

Here’s one way to answer your question: Purples were once top-of-the-line, the bee’s kneees of fuses. And they’re still as good now as when you put them in.
I think more new music is a better value for money than yet another fuse. But that’s just my opinion.

Acquisition of new music and supporting live music has been a priority for me. Lately I have lost my focus, and spent too much on system upgrades.
Time to get it on with the music.

I agree. . . stick with the fuses you have. . . or move to the Swiss Digital Fuse Box, which is an improvement worth making.

100% agree I am happy with the purples and the need to constantly upgraded fuses - trend over for me

I have Purples in my system also. I look at it this way: they are a noticeable improvement over the stock fuses or the cheaper aftermarket fuses I tried. I’ve made a big improvement in SQ and so am happy. Maybe someday I’ll try an SR Pink but I’m in no rush. If you’ve got the money and the inclination, sure, try some others. But don’t feel you have to make a change to keep the SQ that you have.
