If AQ made a one foot Dragon cord, this combo will be a killer; way better than the Master fuse but it is not a bargain anymore.
I know the box will work great because I put in a fuse with three times higer rating into the DS (temporary so do not get too excited). The SQ was better than the “correct” one arrived later.
Your product might not be illegal in the UK, but it would be preceded by a 13A fuse, 16A breaker and 2 or 3 more high current fuses. Those are either dangerous or illegal to change.
Sir Walter Scott said “O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive!”. Regrettably, neither Socrates nor Scott were electrical engineers.
A famous engineer, who did know about electricity, was a science fiction writer and occasional opera librettist wrote: “Now I no longer live in our clear, rational world; I live in the ancient nightmare world, the world of square roots of minus one.”
Incidentally, programmable electronic fuses are not new.
And you also have never heard of one of these devices failing, on this forum or anywhere else.
If you are looking for absolute answers, absolutely do not try one of these devices.
I don’t disagree…yes fuses have failed in use but the gear did not…
With the swiss blade fuse box working on an algorithm programmed chip
with with slugs acting in place of a fuse ?..man oh man that one is a no no for me
Why do you have to approve a power cord? The diameter of the conductors determines the fuse rating to prevent the cord overheating. a cable only b3comes dangerous if too much current is drawn for its diameter.
True if it’s out of warranty. And if it is out of warranty, one could file a claim with their insurance company. Just make sure to replace the stock fuse before doing so.
