Swiss Digital Fuse Box, the fuse reinvented

My impression is many do not trust the unit to cut power if needed and their equipment will be damaged.

Yet, at the same time, they trust exotic pixie dust fuses to function properly if need be.

That may be the case.

Folks are missing out, if true.

Cheers.

I am patiently awaiting three SDFBā€™s with graphene sluggos and the fancy piggies to arrive on Sept 12th. They will go into my P20 and BHK300s. I will report my findings once everything has burned in.

Agreed, but change can be difficult.

Audiophiles can be a very narrow-minded bunch, ironically.

Human behavior is inexplicable. We believe what we choose, and leave it at that.

My feeling is more like Ronā€™s (thanks for your report, Ron!). I have no qualms about the SDFB doing its thing, but I can only imagine that a second power cable at least as good as the one already in use would be needed to get the very best out of the new power connection. For me thatā€™s too much dinero.

I get that. I was lucky in that I had extra matching power cables on hand and I havenā€™t experienced the SDFB without matching cables.* Still, even if I had to buy an extra cable, just one SDFB is such a marked improvement (and so much better than fuses of any kind Iā€™ve tried) that I would shell out to have even just one SDFB in my system.

*And more than one have reported that the use of lesser cables in front of the SDFB is surprisingly good sounding.

Itā€™s a mistake to fear a lack of efficacy due the unavailability of two expensive power cables.

Put the best you have/can afford between the SDFB and your kit and enjoy the impact.

While the quality of the PC b/t the wall and the SDFB MAY matter, it is not necessary and sufficient to hear a difference IME.

My three SDFBā€™s have arrived!! One for my P20 and two for my BHK300s. I ordered the super piggies as I need US plugs for the SDFBs.
I must be patient, though. First things first - use my cable burner!!

The fun begins! Eager to read your impressions.

Iā€™m on-call tomorrow, but if I donā€™t get called in, then the P20 gets the SDFB tomorrow whilst I burn in the other two in turn. Iā€™ll keep you all posted! Mark Schifter is a great guy to deal with.

In total agreementā€“Mark is a wonderful person to deal with.

I now have the three SDFBs in my system, all with graphene sluggos. I ordered them with the super piggies and each one was burned in for 24 hours in a bluehorizon cable burner. The graphene sluggos obviously donā€™t get burned in with this process as they go into the appliance you are swapping the fuse out of.

I started with one SDFB in my P20, and this was already a ā€œwowā€ upgrade, with more detail and musicality clearly evident. Adding the SDFBs to the BHK300s enhanced this even more. Those fuses strangle the current in a way you wonā€™t appreciate until they are gone.

Iā€™ve actually turned down the volume when I listen. I hear so much more in each recording. The soundstage is focused sharply and with depth. The bass is powerful but also focused and controlled.

I need to re-run my BACCH as the SDFBs affect the system in a fundamental way. Iā€™m sure those of you with Dragon PCs or similar calibre will get even more, but I am super impressed.

Bear in mind that the graphene sluggos definitely need burning in. Do not judge the sound in the first couple of hours, then be prepared to be startled.

I have zero anxiety about the technology protecting my gear, and need no further convincing.

My system:
Roon Nuc+ to etherRegen then Furutech NCF Cat8 to Mac Mini running BACCH. Inakustik Referenz USB to DSD Mk2. BHK Pre. BHK300s. Fidelium speaker cables to Amphion Krypton3 speakers. I also have a PS Audio SACD with Dragon 48 HDMI to the DSD Mk2, mainly for recordings I canā€™t stream.
I have PCs and XLRs which were made by a company in Melbourne (Australia) that are no longer in production (Sonic Art) but sound great.

The SDFB with graphene sluggos is a no brainer in my opinion. Iā€™m tempted to get moreā€¦

Bear in mind, the SDFBs and piggies had a head start with the cable burner but are still burning in.

Thanks so much

So appreciate the fine feedback here

We have been busy with all of the products (SDFB Main Stream and SnubWay) and our move to California. Everything is now fulfilled out of Newbury Park with the exception of the speakers and subs

Good to be here for a moment again

Many thanks - Mark

Well, I predicted you would be seduced by the SDFBs and the Graphene Sluggos! All these will get better over the next few weeks!

You were right, @lonson !
The SDFBs replaced SR blue fuses. No going back.
