Synergistic Research Purple fuse price drop

I’m merely curious. I’ve read so many posts using the term “full loom” as if it’s an established fact that a full loom(same product line from the same manufacture) of cables/fuses will supposedly better than a mix of cables/fuses. Is this a fact? a myth? or what? where when and who started this full loom theory? Do we know?

I assume there’s at least one sales executive at AudioQuest who would like you to believe so.

And Transparent, Nordost, Stealth, Cardas, Audience, and every other cable making company prefers you use there cables exclusively.

If you really like one cable, then it is a safe route to go with one or a few more of the same. When you mix with assorted brands there is a risk of bringing in some unwanted sonic characters.

AQ Storm series power cords have HC and Source designed to pair together. Some other brands too. In my case AQ Dragons have improved my system so greatly which made me think I should continue adding more to a full loom eventually.

Like Al, he has a full loom of Stealth cables and nobody hears him complaining. But seriously, if you like the direction a cable is going, getting more of the same can enhance the way that sound further. I went the SR Galileo route for my power cords and the results I can’t even put into words! I’m sure the AQ Dragon route is just as powerful and engaging, and @Vmax and his Whispers cords are intriguing to say the least.

Whispers, AQ Dragons, or Stealths all go to an entirely different level with tuning ring adjustments. Throw in some bedframe supports and sorbothane on the Whispers and Dragons to isolate and absorb bass vibrations and the clarity is beyond descriptions.

All great cables have one thing in common lots of silver draining RF and EMI and a weave of wires blocking RF and EMI interference. Use them in unison and hidden music appears like magic.

Just out of curiosity, I looked up QSA and their fuse prices.
If one chooses to do the same, I would recommend not having food that one might choke on, in one’s mouth at the time. Or liquids that could potentially come back out thru one’s nostrils.
If I can sell my car, I’ll order the Gold version.

Aw, come on, Ron! They start out super cheap! Yellow around the price of SR Purple! After that, not so much…

I will say the steps in quality between light blue, yellow and violet are easily heard in an Innuos Zen Mk3. I do wonder if they’d be as effective in an amplifier.

They should not use Silver and Gold for the names since these metals are so cheap in comparison.

You can preorder SR Master fuses now, and it’s selling at $595 each. It is safe to predict there will not be a long waiting list for that, I think

is there agreement on the direction of the Purple fuse in the DS 2 ?

Same for MK2, assuming…

My “beta” MK II has still the stock fuse on board, can’t help you sorry.
If I can suggest other fuse lovers what’s the best… try and listen with your ears both directions, always.

You still have the Bata unit that is supposed to be replaced by a production unit? For the rest of us the Bata is the real unit. I am not sure when the next shipment will be made at this point, especially to Italy.

Yes Donald, last days of December I accepted to temporarily keep a “beta” first production unit from my dealer once the importer sent back all the units to Boulder to be replaced with new units. PS Audio export manager said that a new batch would have been sent as soon as possible. Don’t ask me when, I really don’t know at this point.
I’m not in a hurry because I’m more than happy with my unit actually and when it will be replaced with a new one I can experiment a sort of re-burning in process to find out differences, comparisons, analysis (from my more acknowledged point of view). A pretty unique opportunity I presume.

Re-burning! :face_with_spiral_eyes: Boy, I need a drink, a strong one.

BTW, The Sigma USB with a dumbbell on one side is heavy and needs some good support. I do not think my foam is strong enough. Omega comes with two dumbbells; I need to buy something soon for support.

It’s like buying the same component two times (at the same price!). The beauty is in the journey and not at the end of it? Well, it can keep me occupied for a while and away from other purchases!

As for Omega, you are right, didn’t think about the weight of the dumbbells! I’m pretty sure you’ll find soon a solution, thanks for sharing.
