Beautiful system and setup.
Is that a Rega P10?
Most interesting speakers, a new full range concentric high sensitivity speaker. Power specification is 3w - 40w, preferably Class A valves. What are those amplifiers you are using?
Are you enjoying the P10 with the PSA Phono? What did it replace?
Here are a couple photos of the room in our home where my wife and I do our listening.
Currently the system is:
PS Audio BHK 250 amp, BHK preamp, Stellar PP3 power regenerator
High Fidelity Cables MC-0.5 and MC-1 power conditioners
Tidal Piano Cera speakers
Luxman D-08u SACD/CD
RCM Sensor Prelude phono stage
Acoustic Signature Final Tool with new motor upgrade, AudioMods tonearm, Transfiguration Axia S cartridge
Furutech and Luminous Audio interconnects
PS Audio AC-12, DH Labs Red Wave, Furutech, and Wireworld a/c cables.
Nice. Lots of changes since January '19!
You may have shared this somewhere else, but how are you using the Schiit monoblocks? (And are they Vidars or Aegirs?)
I know what wonderful amps those are he’s using. They’re the same exact ones that I’m using and loving, the Schiit Aegir amps. Quite possibly the best sounding amps under $5k.
Wow! Really nice set up. What rack are you using?
That’s an older Italian Solid Steel 5.4 rack. They quit making one piece racks, probably because of shipping costs and susceptibility to shipping damage.
Got it, thanks
@iron
Yeah, I wish I got a rug too… but wife doesn’t like rug, said it attracts dust.
@Philipp_Schaefer
Yup Rega P10. I may have to sell it soon if I can’t find other means to pay for the Nenuphar It’s a great turntable… if I do sell it I will buy it again when fund is available
@stevensegal
Yup enjoying the Stellar phono, it replaces the Rega Fono MC which I paired with Planar 6. I upgraded both the TT and phono preamp at around the same time.
@terzinator
I’m using the First Watt SIT-2 to pair with the Nenuphar, so far it’s the best pairing out of the 3 amps I have on hand, the other two being BHK250 and Schiit Aegir mono blocks. With the Klipsch the BHK250 was best, split between the Aegir and SIT-2 I would say. I didn’t have too much listening time with the Klipsch and SIT-2. Purchased the SIT-2 to pair specifically with the Nenuphar since Srajan from six moon mentioned the SIT-1 is best pairing in his review. I concurred with the SIT-2.
Looking at other system photos here, I realized it’s time I save up for a real stereo rack… not looking for something super expensive, hopefully <$1k.
Wired in a new preamp on Friday. Don Sachs DS-2 with all the goodies…
Had to order bigger output caps (2.7uf Mundorf silver oil) to drive the Accuphase

I have a Don Sachs model 2 pre-amp I took out of service, it’s a good pre but I really don’t need it.
This is my primary system. I use this most of the time.
When I’m in the mood for some tubular sounds I listen to my secondary system.
The integrated amp was given to me by my uncle back in the late 1970’s, when I was a teenager. I haven’t used it in over 20 years. When I bought the Focal’s for my main system, I tried to get the integrated amp working with the Paradigm’s but one of the tubes was red-plating. Googling for info on the integrated amp I ran across a blueglow electronics video series on how to restore that integrated amp. So, I bought the parts and got to soldering.
With a new set of caps and a new set of tubes, that integrated amp sounds so sweet! I have never heard it sound so good. Blues and Jazz sound so creamy on that system compared to the more analytical sound that I get from my primary system. But I like the analytical system too. It’s just different and I listen to either one depending on my mood.
Note: The speaker on the shelf to the left of the integrated amp is the right surround speaker of my primary system. It is not part of the tube system.
Like the way you are enjoying both systems, that way your glass is always half full.
I do have a question about your alias “Mycrowave”. Are you sure it’s still appropriate? Those subs look like they a capable of making “Megawaves” .
Looks like a lot of fun.
Hahahaha
You might think that they are a little much, but those subs are awesome!
I was able to get them balanced very nicely with the rest of the system. They are tuned so that you can’t hear or feel them unless you are supposed to hear or feel them.
Not only do I hear the bass, but I can feel the air in the room vibrate when there is an explosion in a movie that I am watching. It’s almost like being at the site of the explosion.
When playing music, they are very tame and only provide the support that is needed to fill in the lower registers.
Love the H.H. Scott! Is that an Anthem AVM 60 on your larger system? I have an AVM 60 on my theater system. It replaced my Statement D2v.
I only have about 20 hrs on it but first impressions are positive…
It’s very quiet, fairly transparent, really solid build quality, nice midrange and extended highs. Soundstage is limited but rock solid and stable
It does sound a little “compressed” but is opening up as it burns in
I’m have a bit of a “preamp fetish” I own 5 at the moment and was looking to try something new and different. Also love the looks,

If I might bother you for a question…
I have an Anthem AVM50v 2 and was thinking about picking up a used Statement D2v. I really like the older Anthem Pre/Pros, but I might be persuaded to move up Anthem’s current offerings. How do you like the AVM 60 for Hi-Fi AND HT use compared to the D2v. Is it a step back in any way or all good? I really like the flexibility of the older stuff for multiple subs and center channels and I am not really interesting in moving toward Atmos or other height channels – content with 5.1 through 7.2 with my current rig for now.
Thanks for your time in advance.
Cheers.
As you know, the AVM 60 is less than half the price of a new D2V. It can’t be as good right? In my opinion it definitely is. The D2V has fallen behind the times to be of much use video-wise. Sound-wise it will never fade. But the AVM 60 offers the newer sound options, while video is no longer processed but switching is offered. I, like you, am only interested in 5.1. I love my AVM60, the D2v is back in its box. Startup time with the newer piece is fast, and I have zero complaints with it.
You can find D2v for under a grand, which is hard to pass up. I am guessing you’d appreciate the AVM60 a great deal though. I am.
Thanks for the prompt reply. I appreciate it.
A follow up query: I am pretty enamored with the quality of the dedicated stereo balanced inputs on the AVM 50v 2, coupled with ARC for stereo (the PS Audio DSD is my primary source). Would you say the AVM 60 performs as well as a stereo preamplifer?
Thanks again,
Scott
I would say it would be extremely difficult to actually hear an improvement between the Anthem and other similar preamps. There may be differences, but I am not sure they would be obvious to many. The Anthem is an excellent preamp.
