System Photos!

Oh yeah… I’ve been called the “Cat Man” around here for years.

2ch music system (exclusively stream Tidal):
Spendor D7;
REL S/5;
Audio Research DSI200 integrated amp;
Teac NT-505 streamer/dac;
Vibrapods isolators under ARC, Teac;
MIT Matrix speaker and XLR interconnect cables;
Audio Art power and Neutrik speakon for sub cables;
Richard Gray Pro 400 conditioner;
PSA Noise Harvester (x3) [that at least gives me street cred to post here, right?]

H/T setup is independent of 2ch system, with Marantz SR5012 providing Atmos 5.1.2 to B&W front stage, Energy sub, NHT rears and Speakercraft heights; W Audio power conditioner. My favorite homebrew “tweak” is the three doorstoppers that angle the center channel speaker toward ear level at the preferred listening/watching location. :grin: The NHT rears are mounted to the sidewalls (left one is visible in reflection from TV). The Speakercraft height speakers are mounted in ceiling (not visible in photos), and 20 years ago they were my DolbySourround rears before Atmos existed. Now, just moved the couch back a couple feet and they become Atmos height channels. :+1:

Family room shared living space where 2ch system off limits to rest of fam (they are well trained!). Kids and wife have full access to the H/T and to stream Tidal thru the Marantz to B&W/Energy. Keeps everybody happy :+1:

After I got the Magnepans, I moved the Harbeth P3ESR’s down to the music room, along with the Myryad integrated.

I need to find a little DAC to go from the laptop into the amplifier, but it’s serviceable from the headphone jack for now. (Stereo down here is so I can jam along with the Allman Brothers.) :metal:

One of the little Topping DACs for example? I recall you had a D50 for a while, or are you after something posher?

I must post way too often!

Yeah, I do have a D50, but it is up in my main system.

Mac mini Roon bridge to matrix to the D50.

That would work great. Maybe I use that and get something posher for this system! :face_with_monocle:

I have a memory for detail, but only when I’m interested in a subject…
(And I had thought you had got rid, for some reason)
Anyway I’ve seen the D30 still available recently, under 100 quid I think, might do the job :slight_smile:

Heeeey I have a little headphone amp/dac with USB and a line out. FiiO K3. Just hooked it up and works fine. :+1:

No online purchases today, I’m afraid. :disappointed_relieved:

Grrrrr, now you’ve got me thinking that a topping D70 might be the thing. Move the D50 down to the music room, and put the D70 in the main system. Use I2S from the Matrix X-SPIDF to the D70, and then Balanced Outputs from D70 to the Cambridge Audio CXA80.

$500 new, but I did just spy a minty used one for $350.

This place is a horrible horrible place.

Not sure why I’m posting this. Maybe because I just cleaned the place up. Must be it.

Anyway, my sawdust-free workshop/utility room where I change guitar strings and muck around with turntables.

Underneath the workbench there’s an NAD D7050 network amplifier that’s a Roon endpoint (airplay).

Speakers are Silverline Minuet Supreme Plus. (Not much bass with these!)

I have a little NAD phono preamp that catches the signal from that Technics SL-220 on the dresser.

I like that you have a system in what seems like every room - one in the loo too? It’s a good thing!

My system in our bedroom, consists of a Yamaha music cast WXC-50 with a 128 gb jump drive, I’ll also stream from my PC to it, a Yamaha integrated S1100, RP1 TT with 2mm Ortofon blue and the speakers are Watkins Stereo Generation 4s. The Gen 4s are the best sounding bookcase class of speakers I’ve ever heard.

you might want to consider some anti-vibration applied between the stacked speakers…

Only one set of speakers there, they are sitting on storage cabinets.

Den system. Iteration #459. I’ve lost count, frankly. But there are pictures earlier in this thread, which I may examine forensically.

Ok, Stellar Phono #2 is gone. It’s a saga that’s too painful to retell here, but suffice it to say something happened internally that they’re thinking was some kind of electrostatic discharge, and the unit died.

So, with an Audiolab 8000A integrated amplifier already as my main squeeze, and being a slave to symmetry, I hunted down a minty Audiolab 8000PPS phono stage on US Audio Mart for a song. Hooked it up, and I’m extremely happy with how it sounds. Not gonna try to compare it to the Stellar, because I’m not that good. But the records sound plenty dynamic and fun and it looks the part.

Allows me to have both of my turntables connected, like the Stellar – and its operation is quite similar, too. No remote, but front-panel settings allow me to switch between decks and adjust gain, curve, etc… No adjustable load, but I have been running my Denon DL301 MK2 at 500 ohms, and the default for MC is 470 ohms, so it’s pretty much perfect.

Still have the Thorens TD-126 MKII and TD-150 MKI.

Digital, I still run Roon from my Mac Mini, now through a TEAC UD-501 DAC I got after selling my Schiit gear.

Onkyo C-S5VL SACD Player.

Speakers haven’t changed either. Still have the Focal Aria 906’s.

I’m done mucking with this system for a while. I think I’ll just listen.
