To be honest , my wife’s plan based on when to Plasma will be faulty ,We will replace the Brown forniture
With a lower size more light brown. And add a new TV.
Here’s a nearly free “tweak” that I hadn’t thought of until yesterday. My audio gear rack is an open design so despite careful cable routing between components you could clearly see all that stuff against my light colored wall. Solution was to paint a rectangle of the wall behind those components flat black. Worked like a charm.
EDIT: I even installed black duplex outlet covers for the full black out effect.
Clever
Very Nice! Are those Magtech Amps?
You betcha! I have Sanders Sound Systems Model 10e speakers, SSS-customized dBx Venu-360 LMS and the two Magtechs. At 900W/channel into 4 ohms and stable into 1 ohm these class A/B amps are all I’ll ever need.
Very nice! I have the Martin Logan CLX speakers and was looking into those and the BHK 300’s! I like the rack and set up!
Forgive the possibly dense question but what kind of customization has been done to the venu360?
I 2nd what kcleveland123 said.
LG OLED id the BEST. Especially when you hire a ISF Tech to calibrate it !!
Pioneer Elite Plasma was the King of the Hill prior no doubt.

The faceplate has been replaced with no rack mount ears and I think there’s some custom text/graphics. Looks more like a standard component.
Sony XR65A90J is my weapon of choice.
I finally got my rack project completed! I used 3/4’’ threaded rods and had a friend make 2’’ walnut shelves for it. Now I’m waiting on my P15, FedEx is showing Sunday for delivery!
That is stunning wood, big fan of walnut, my rack is walnut vaneer.
System top to bottom:
- Rega P10 + Apheta 3
- Rega P10 power supply, Rega Aura phono preamp, Melco S100 network switch.
- PS Audio BHK preamp, PS Audio DS DAC + Bridge II
- HDPlex 300W Linear Power Supply, PS Audio P15
- Naim Uniti Core ripper/server + 2TB SSD, Meridian 857 ref. power amp, Roon Nucleus+
- Dynaudio Contour 20 speakers bolted to dedicated stands filled with sand.
- Atacama rack uses rubber and aluminum support + spikes. Shelves are 1.5” carbon infused solid bamboo.
- Interconnects AQ Water, Power cables AQ Monsoon with Mistral plugs, LAN cables Melco CAT 7.
Since the arrival of Melco S100, reinstalled / reinstated Bridge II, and I have been extremely happy with its sound quality. I’ll reinstall the Matrix in July to see if I missed anything.
Edit: speakers are 8 ft. apart.
The Rega P10/Aura phono stage combo must be sublime. I have the RP10 (in skeleton mode with a P10 dust cover), Aphelion2 cart and PS Audio Stellar Phono and feel like I’ve reached the end for vinyl (Ha! yeah right). When you wear out your Apheta3 you should try the Aphelion. Holy mackerel.
Best,
Kurt
Beautiful…and nice and tidy.
Congrats,

So, the MELCO is feeding the DS via Ethernet/Bridge II…?
If I understand the set up correctly, does the MELCO sound better than your experience feeding the Bridge II Ethernet card from a previous source?
Cheers.
and will really bring the Room together.
Hi Kurt,
The upgrade from Stellar Phono to Rega Aura was quite significant in my setup. I can imagine the Aphelion would be another big one.
Hi @scotte1
Given all the praise people had for Matrix X-SPDIF2, I got one and removed Bridge II that was being fed from / by my router. Matrix was fed by Nucleus+ USB port, and its power came from HDPlex 300. This setup sounded fantastic, but Tidal and other internet streaming services did not sound good enough. I got the Melco switch to improve online streaming quality. I then reinstalled Bridge II and got a nice little surprise. I can enjoy online streaming like never before. So, took the Matrix out for an extended trial of Bridge II + Melco S100. The latter connects everything: music server, streamer, router, and Bridge II. So, for the time being, there are no I2S cables or USB cables in the system. Just LAN cables and analogue interconnects.
Gotcha.
I was thinking you purchased a MELCO server for some reason.
Glad to hear you like the switch. I have lusted after it a bit, but MELCO is “proud” of them.
Looking forward to hearing more of your impressions of its performance and utility in your system.
Thanks for the response.
