It’s the bunnies space, she lets me share it.
She is more important than the gear is to me.
Almost.
Joe, you may be right. I’ll grab my laser and make sure.
Nope, it’s the same. Whew.

Al,
Really cool setup. I like the satin / pearl / soft white color on the noise makers.
Seeing as I will most likely never see a set of those in person, can you tell if they are some sort of fiberglass or molded resin cabinets?
Thanks for sharing all of your trials. It helps the hive in many ways.

OMG! Beautiful. I bet it sounds absolutely wonderful. What dealer did you buy the speakers from? Not many around.
I think it was Gandhi who said “You can judge a civilisation by the way it treats its animals” but I believe you can say the same about an individual. You have my respect on that count. Great system too, would love to hear it, if you ever bring it to Grand Cayman let me know.
So who’s the boss in the house? Oh never mind, you already answered that.
Your stuff looks really yummy though!!
Ms Kliler Rabbit rules!
I bought them from Kyomi Audio in Chicago. George Vatchnadze is my audio guru. He my be dangerous to your current gear.
According to Vivid it is a glass reinforced balsa cored sandwich composite. It is not heavy but it is strong and sturdy. No buzzing or the like.
They are a little over five and a quarter feet tall and weigh about 159 pounds each.
That sounds like an interesting fab process. I’ll bet it would be cool to see how it works. Sounds like a lot of artistic talent is involved in the cabinet work along with the actual design of the drivers and crossover networks…
Excuse the mess under the desk, still sorting through stuff.
This is my little system with the newly acquired Buchardt S300 bookshelf speakers.
Summer here in Arizona means put the Tubes away and get out the Transistors/FET’s. My McIntosh MC50’s are still in repair as my tech continues chasing down an oscillation that occurs on one of after one minute of warm up. The trusty Adcom 7300 is also in repair as I somehow managed to damage two channels WITHOUT blowing any of the fuses. Funny, I used to blow the fuses on my 545II with ease when running it on stupidly low loads
.
So my friend who lent me the KEF R3’s also gave me a Niles 6/12 channel distribution amplifier (I run it 6 channels bridged) and a Dynaco SCA-80Q which has a right channel problem.
The Bose 901’s are running raw (no EQ) with a GRS Planar Magnetic atop each X’d over at 8kHz.
The Niles Amp is very thin sounding so I’ve ordered one of those cheapo Chinese Tube Preamps for $16 off of Amazon to see if I thicken things up on the front L & R Speakers.
I had to scrap the black KEF 105/3’s and 104/2’s cabinets but kept intact the Rosewood pair. Using the upper midbass sections of the two KEF 104/2’s and another GRS Planer Tweeter, a very clean and detailed Center Channel was born. The Left (working) channel powers it. The Niles runs the top sections of the Open Baffle Speakers and the unEq’d 901’s and their Tweeters.
The newest version of my multichannel-music-and-movie system.
It’s not much different except that the long-resting Quad 2905s are back, and I’m thrilled with the slight increase in rez and larger increase in what I might call micro-spaciousness… The M1200s(1) and Quads sound simply fabulous…and I shudder to think that I almost sold the Quads.
Same frontend–Oppo '203 multidisc player and Marantz AV8805 pre/pro, with all decoding done in the Marantz.
I’m VERY happy with my system.

(1) …slightly modifed with lots of panel-damping material plus higher-quality coupling caps–MultiCap RTX polystyrenes plus SoniCap Platinum bypasses–and new Cardas binding poists…
Would be interesting how the Quads sound with the Stellar monos…I bet great!
I wonder what Peter Walker would have thought. With my ESL I limited the power to 100w/6ohms.
I guess he wouldn’t have known how they sound with much more watts.
It’s as with Maggies. They flawlessly work with 50 watts, but they get their real grip and ease with 200 or more.
Holy smokes, those are remarkable looking speakers, have a dreamy Alice In Wonderland feel to them. What brand and model are they?
Quad 2905s… Models 2905 and 2805 were introduced in 2005 and have been replaced by the somewhat evolved 2912 and 2812 models.
How many bars of air are you pushing into the speakers?
Those Quad stats are in the top-3 best speakers I’ve ever heard. They were paired with Rogue Audio electronics in a very good room when I heard them. Great setup and thanks for sharing the photos.
TYVM… I had a pair of 989s years ago, and maybe 10 years ago looked for Quads again and found these 2905s… I had been driving them with a pair of Atma-Sphere M-1s (160 Watts per chassis into 4 or 8 ohms; ALL-tubed, and ALL triodes) until a couple summers ago when I retired both and bought the pairs of M1200s… Both pairs (2905s and M-1s) have been ‘resting’ since then until I decided to reinstall the Quads to see if I should use or sell them… Five mintes later, I fell in love again but this time driven by the M1200s, which I believe are truly-FIVE-star amps.
