Went to to visit Tom Campagna of Quintessence Audio and bought a pair of his Cornwall IV’s from his listing on US Audio Mart & Audiogon.
A great visit and quite the history too ! 12 hours round trip from Phoenix to outside San Diego and back.
Listening to his design reference “statement” Speakers brought back memories of the IRS V’s of Paul’s and Corydon’s modified versions. Without the need of a Woofer stack. Just two simple in phase SVS Subs was all they needed.
The Cornwall IV’s our home.
The easiest Speakers I have ever setup. Powered by the Orchard Audio Ultra Amplifier. That 15” Dog needs a beefy Amplifier in order to shake my living room. Wimpy little 2W Amplifiers just won’t do for me or that Woofer.
Curious to know why 4"x4" junction boxes with duplex receptacle rs covers were used instead of cut-in boxes in the wall?
Those are a truly timeless design. As good today as they were back in the day. Congrats!
Temporary Michael. I’m building an in wall rack and will relocate around back. My garage is in the other side of that wall.
Good question though.

I had a similar problem here. No easy access to the wall lower plate and no skill to redo sheetrock and paint. I drilled thru the floor and used some 1/2" PVC conduit and surface mount boxes for my 3 new 20 amp runs to service the stereo pieces.
Gorgeous!
I just want to know if the “Hulk” figure vibrates right off the sub when the music gets lively! Great looking system. Very clean and tidy.
I am in the market for some “ribbon” speaker cables.
What are yours, if you don’t mind me asking?
“Pretty” setup, by the way. Enjoy.
Nicely put together system. Bet it sounds great. well done.
Great looking system which I’m sure sounds fantastic!
The TV image made me think of the 70’s group " A Taste of Honey" who sang “Boogie Oogie Oogie”.
Those are Nordost Red Dawn speaker wires
Oddly enough I thought the same. Hasn’t moved at all. Between the two painted surfaces they are slightly “tacky”
Thank you. Yes, these are the best I’ve ever owned or built.
I love Magnepan’s but in our living room. They won’t fit correctly. Those Speakers need room to breathe and the egress to and from our front door is always a danger. My Speaker Stands and whatever Towers I’ve had in the past needed to be pulled out from the walls.
I can’t believe how Roy Delgado and his team took PWK’s original design from 60+ years ago and brought it into the 21st Century ! He stole the ports from the RP600M’s and replaced the crude boxed ports.
No horn ee ness whatsoever !
Gotta love it when a plan comes together!
How are the Red Dawn cables with the Focals? I have Focal Sopra No. 2 and have been thinking of trying the Red Dawns. I worry that they may push the Focals too far to the bright side.
“Subscribed.”
The Red Dawn is much improved over the Blue Heavens for me, much more detailed and wide. I think the beryllium tweeters are inherently bright but the speaker cables didn’t brighten them to me.
