System Photos!

I also have a Altair G1. Great piece of kit. I installed an SSD and bought an external DVD drive. Now, whenever I get a new CD it rips while I play it, gets the art work and track list. Whenever I’m feeling lazy I stick it on Radio Paradise and even that stream sounds good.

So far, I’m really liking mine as well. I just connected the G1 to the wifi about an hour ago, and surprised that it sounds a touch cleaner than via wired. Not that it wasn’t clean sounding before. Just more so now.

I’ve listened to a few radio stations just to try it out, and yes, they do sound really good through the G1.

Last thing I remembered was “ordered” and “big payment upfront but a year or more delivery time”

20% 30 months. Unless things have changed.

What is this azden thingy?

LOL!

It was my father’s. Don’t worry. It’s not in the signal chain. It’s simply there for the “bouncy lights” factor.

ut was it, and how does the lights work?

It’s a 10 band graphic equalizer from around 1986. It has built-in pink noise, signal generator and a mic input for the calibrated mic that came with it. Also a couple of tape loops. The display is very responsive.

All in all, it just brings back good memories from when I was a kid listening to music with my father on his system.

I’ve made enough changes to the FR20 location & toe-in to share. The area rug was even vacuumed.

Now that I know the rug has been vacuumed, I really can’t look at anything else.

I have found that the FR20s are more difficult to setup than I thought they would be, similarly I’m happy with the performance in the current location.

off my consideration you go. and a new and improved model will release in the meantime.

Since I ordered mine they have upgraded the price $80K. Same speakers, higher price.

Yes, they are a bit tough to get perfected, and I did struggle, but the magic is so worth the effort. Your system looks fantastic.

Relocated the Linn today.

$20 at IKEA. Luckily I had some Straightwire Musicable left over from the Atmos install. Extended the crappy cable that came with the Linn 33 years (remember the TT/Benz Micro Cartridge are mint) by direct soldering the Straightwire cable enlarged the hole from the living room wall that backs into our Garage. Heat shrink tubing, electrical tape, and fish stick are your best friends here.

One day ($$$), I’ll build a proper cable with the wire of my choice with better RCA connectors and the tonearm Connector (I chucked and cut up a lot of Monster Cable wire but hung on to the shells).

The beauty of a floating suspension:

I cranked MFSL’s Los Endos (JVC Supervinyl) and The 2015 re-press of La Villa Strangiato (180g). Not a single jump of the stylus or Bass overloading through the Speakers. Having the Benz Micro MC Cartridge means 0 feedback/howling through the Speakers.

The 4 cork Kitchen Pot Holders ensure no vibrations get to the TT. Now I just need a cool looking cloth cover to put over the Acrylic Lid when not in use.

Isolating the GND wire from the -ve wire was not easy within the shell of the RCA connector.

I’m a great believer in cork (bungs for feet and mats for wider things), and those Lack tables are excellent too
