Is that a subwoofer under your LP 12?

Further guaranteeing their aural superiority as far as I’m concerned.

PS–i have the same plinth. Love it.

I find the PSA “pillowcases” fit the bill.

I cover the top of my DMP and DS Sr. with the slip covers they were encased in when shipped.

FWIW.

Funny, my dust cover lives in a 5 million thread count pillowcase in a closet.

Just another corporate mindset joining the inflation bandwagon is all…

And your stereo sounds better because of this

It is in getting that ultimate magic just right, and involves getting the tweeters aimed perfectly, in both up/down and left/right (toe-in) angles. The speakers do sound good when NOT set up just right, but it does take time, and lots of experimenting and adjusting to get that absolute magic just right.

Ok, that’s quite normal I’d say.

I have several of those Lack tables as well around the house, but I certainly wouldn’t place a subwoofer directly under one that’s holding a turntable.

It’s not just physical vibrations through the floor you have to worry about, but the airborne vibrations. Besides, have you ever seen what these tables are made out of? It’s like heavy corrugated cardboard. That’s why they’re so light and sound hollow when you wrap your knuckles on them.

Yes sir! 100%!

Hmm, not in my experience, but hey I actually own and listen to a Linn Sondek.

I’m referring to the actual “guts” of the tables, not the outer surface material. In fact just about all of that style of furniture from Ikea is made like that, including the cube KALLAX shelving that I store all of my LPs and cassettes on.

Not bashing the product BTW. And nothing at all wrong with listening to a Linn Sondek. Heck, I listen to an all original, 45 year old Technics SL-1700 MK2. :sunglasses:

I read you wrong, my apologies. My Linn Sondek rests on a Sound Organisation table specifically designed for the Linn Sondek. Somewhere around here I have a Target Pro turntable shelf, that I have not installed. The idea was shot down by my significant other after she eyed it.

I too have a Technics SL-1700 turntable in the office, its a keeper!

No worries at all.

And yes, both the Linn and Technics are keepers. Mine (just like the Azden EQ and Nakamichi DR-1) are from my father, all purchased new.

Sitting here listening to The Beatles -Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band via Qobuz through the Auralic Altair G1, controlled with the Lightning DS app.

Just as a reference, I have listened to this exact album through the Raspberry Pi4/Schiit Bifrost 2 Multibit/Roon, then through the Cambridge Audio CXN V2 with the StreamMagic app, and now with the Altair G1/LDS app. Nothing else in the system changed.

Listening to “She’s Leaving Home”… Multiple times I might add!

  1. Pi4/Bifrost/Roon - I recall this track sounding a bit flat between the speakers and Paul’s singing being a bit recessed behind the TV, but just as a voice.

  2. CXN/SM app - Wider and deeper soundstage with Paul still behind the TV, but just as a voice.

  3. Altair G1/LDS app - Even wider and deeper soundstage, cleaner, smoother, more natural sound, and Paul LITERALLY SOUNDS like he’s sitting on the coffee table IN the room in front of the TV! I mean LITERALLY in the room!

I’m pretty sure I just had a surreal experience. Damn, I’m gonna listen to it a few more times when the album is over!

How much did the sound quality improve after the rug was vacuumed?

@weedeewop Oh Hell Ya ! The Linn does not “skip” a beat even when the Subs being pushed. There are 4 of the little Guys in my room.

Black Audio equipment ALWAYS sounds better to my ears.
