System Photos!

They look pretty cool too in a home system - lots of eye candy bargraphs

@Chops MiniDSP is awesome but your dBx box might be just as good if not better.

The advantage with a miniDSP over the Deer Creek pre programmed miniDSP is you can dial in a curve suitable to your room and taste.

I love my 901’s warts and all ! They are Series 1 (on top) and Series 2 (bottoms). All are sealed box non foam rotting power hogs :slightly_smiling_face:. I resto modded the top cabinets with custom cut acrylic panels because the cabinets were water damaged and a re veneering is not my strong suit . The oddball 901 is actually a hard to find Continental version that predates the Series 3 foam rotting ported blunder. The other Continental has a bad driver and has been out of commission (good for spare parts or a Frankenstein 901)

The grilles were accidentally inspired by the 701. I replaced the smoke stained treble killing original cloth with the acoustically transparent stuff from Parts Express. Since Bose missed the 50th Anniversary by one year and killed the 901. I created my own. I had the Tulip stands powder coated.

Thx man !

I too swear by the dBx Venu360 in my system. Hugely flexible allowing EQ, crossover, time delay, room correction, either automatic with mic input or manually adjustable when using SW tools like REW (Room EQ Wizard).

This is part of the Sanders Sound Systems Model 10e speaker system.

After 3 days, I moved the Magnepan LRS+ back to the 2nd system and reconnected the FR20’s to the main system. While I didn’t notice any grain while listening with the LRS+, the FR20’s are so much smoother and cleaner, and even more magical than the LRS+. I continue to be more and more impressed with the FR20.

A little follow up…

The Jays CDT3 MK3 simply sounds like music… It really does not have a sound signature per-se. I can say without question it is the most naturally organic tonally pleasing sounding transport/digital playback I have ever heard or owned! All of the audiophile checklist descriptions about imaging and such apply with aplomb.

The way it lets the music flow from within an extremely quiet/black soundscape without obscuring any of the details within the fabric of the music is astounding.
Fresh out of the box it sounds nice… but patience is needed for it to really shine as intended after some burn-in time…It really took the bull by the horns at about the 500 hour mark. Patience will pay off big time!

I believe that my Jorma AES/EBU cable feeding the Gryphon Diablo 300 dac module also contributes to the musicality of what I am hearing from the Jays. The combo is superb! As a front end I can highly recommend the CDT3 MK3 to any music lover!!!

I bought some speaker cables from NRG Custom Cables. The guy builds them out of his home. The cups are temporary

I use several dollar store glass cups for my cables. Glass is an excellent electrical insulator!

That is a great point and gives me an idea… I don’t understand why so many cable lifters are metal. Seems to defeat the purpose but maybe I am missing something :man_shrugging:

When tested for rated voltage, no impurities or cracks and maintained clean.
Birds, especially seagulls and pigeons, are known to cause tracking induced faults, especially in foggy environs.

I decided to use these glass pieces after your post. Thank you for the idea! The cables are short enough they don’t touch the floor but I think I will do something similar to support them in the middle.

I plan to float the Grid Protector right behind Darth Vader. At one time Darth sat on the Black Tower that does Nothing. That would have made a wonderful base for the GP. I am thinking of building a floating on air platform.
How hard could that be? I could harness the Dark Side.

I have the 3 channel Proceed AMP 3 if anyone is interested.

I only have a two channel system so I couldn’t use it. I will ask some friends though.

Great sight! The grid protector is not that picky. The EMI protector would feel at home near Darth Vader.
