There are ways of ripping the DSD layer, I just want to know what was used.
Certain older BluRay players and Playstations can be configured but it takes some computer skills in addition.
No, I hear no noise or ticking sound playing SACD’s or anything else before or after installing Massive.
Here’s a YouTube on how to rip a SACD.

I used an old Sony Blu-ray player that was compatible, but have got rid of it now I’ve transferred the files to hard drives.
I use an old Sony Blu-ray also, a model # BDP S-7200. Works really well.
This may be the same video without Yahoo. Or maybe it is another one. Is certainly easier to understand than others. But does not have direct links to related Java software. Ripping SACDs With A Sony BDP-S6200 Blu-ray Player - YouTube
This is a helpful forum link with links to software inside: Rip SACD with a Blu-ray player | HiFi Haven

When someone compares DACS like the mk 2 to the Esoteric, everything else in the chain should be identical or else the comparison is invalid.
After being a long time Antero fw user ( due to noise in the massive beta when going directly to bkh300) o just upgraded to massive latest release and while there are certain improvements I’m not sure but I may go back to Antero.
Do I really need to let massive burn in for a few days before deciding?
A few days at least, 100 hours minimum. I experienced odd anomalies in tonal balance and soundstage proportion/placement several times up to about 100hrs. Then things settled down and were largely stable after that.
Maybe run Massive for the weekend. There are chunks of the FPGA that have not been used before. Then do some comparison listening on Sunday.
Thanks - I’ll let it settle for a few days.
Question: When upgrading to the latest Massive, did you need to adjust the previous configuration of inputs, outputs and shell? Comments are appreciated… thanks
Yes. Treat it like a new DAC and configure to what sounds best.
I will wait for two weeks for Massive to stabilize before changing the setting. It seems to need more than one week to reach optimal in my system.
Massive will reset all your input/out setting to grounded as I remembered.
Ok, please tell me how you currently configured it. ![]()
That’s right Massive left everything back to ground with the update… but I get the impression that the configuration i had previously: I2S and USB (used inputs) lift, the rest unused ground. Outputs lift and shell ground, they don’t convince me… after 1 month with massive installed.
That’s why I made the query.
How anyone else has it configured is irrelevant.
You need to choose what sounds best for you.
Perceived SQ will change depending on the grounding characteristics of the rest of your boxes, cables etc.
ok, let’s start playing again ![]()
