The long wait is over: The new Bridge II Code is live! (currently on hold pending a bug fix) v3.6.2

I’m trying the same problem the album cover does not appear. With the previous version it worked perfectly.

Not only with the cover (Tidal or in local files via NAS), after the first track the music time bar does not exit from zero and the format of the running file is not changed, only corrects restarting the Directstream.

Then the problem repeats itself after the first track.

On the screen of the Ipad with MConnect appears the informations normally.

Has anyone managed to solve it?

Yes, by rolling back to v3.5.1.

I will wait to see if the PSA solves the problem soon since it happened with many, if delay I return.

The most important thing in my view was the obvious gain in quality, yet the DSD DOP is no longer popping up which bothered a little in the previous version.

We are waiting for a solution from the PSA mages.

Hmm… I usually have a direct connection between the Bridge II and my “Roon box” and here the Bridge has a fixed ip address, too. For updates I connect the Bridge to the router via DHCP.

This morning I removed the bridge, relight the PS, close the PS and reinstall the bridge with the installation card, followed by the update card, and followed by redclouwd, and still nothing. no bridge. I’m still waiting for the support email, but I guess it’s overflowing. in my opinion, I burnt the bridge. Do you believe me?

I am a new DS Sr. owner I have read in several places on this board about Mconnect. Is Mconnect an app we can download to manage the PSA DAC/BridgeII. I looked on the PSA site and did not see it?

I too installed the update. I had to reboot 2x, but I finally saw it. My cover art does not work reliably, but then it never has. I have seen a cover on the screen a couple of times primarily it is the PSA logo. I have been experimenting with both Roon and Jriver 23. The unit is about two weeks old. Positive note the DAC is starting to sound really good!

Yes, that’s the app to manage the BridgeII including MQA. Search the app store for mconnect control (for android in search in Play Store) and choose one(or both). Free apps so no charge. Choose mconnect control for phone and mconnect control HD for tablet.

glmoneo and huang - just to further explain, the mConnect mControl app is indeed available for iOS, and if you tap the gear icon and choose Device Setup, you should at least see “Bridge” if you have a DS Junior, and names the Senior more fully (as shown in the screenshots above). The app will tell you if there is a FW update available and let you execute it.

ConversDigital is the maker of the Bridge and the apps, not PS Audio. Hence some of the issues that would hopefully be ironed out by a Bridge III, to be built by PS. Though that may require other bits. TBD.

The IP settings were all correct on the DS DAC/Bridge. However, when I delved deeper into the settings of the MConnectControl app I noticed that the DNS server entry was missing. Don’t know why. I added it and the download started in flash…

I was using 3.3.3 and all was going, sounding and working well. Like an idiot I did the update to 3.6.2. Now, I have no album art, no indication of MQA playing, can’t advance to the next cut on Mcontrol, and if I pause Mcontrol for any length of time, I can’t resume the track. Also, I can’t advance to the next track in Mcontrol.
My setup is simple: Win 10 on microsoft computer streaming Tidal HiFi to bridge II, controlling with Mconnect control and Mconnect play on my ipad.
I’m not pleased with this and want to go back. The sound quality may be a bit better.
Can anyone help me?

I fixed my problem for the most part. I went into settings in the Mconnect play app and didn’t have MQA checked off. Seems to be working well now, but still no album art on the DSD. I can live without that. -Can’t see it from my listening position anyway.

We can but let’s not panic. I’ll have Jeremy reach out.

Thanks, Paul

I have partially solved my problems, but still don’t get album art on the DSD.

By the way my sound quality is wonderful. -Best I’ve ever heard in my system.

Now, if I can just unload that Lanrover, I’ll be OK.

Regards,

John

Last night I startup the system and for 5 tracks the information on the screen of the Directstream, I found until the problem had disappeared but from there nothing more than covers, the time bar of music does not go from zero and the format of the file in reprodution that appears next to the cover (MQA, FLAC, etc) does not change until I restart the Directstream.

I noticed positive changes in sound quality, and that’s what matters, waiting eagerly for a solution of the cover and problem and the like.

My best Regards,
Junior Budel, from Brazil.

I don’t think anyone is getting album art properly. Common theme throughout the thread.

Hi John_Dubya,

So very sorry to hear that the album artwork has ceased.
My first suggestion would be to try reformatting the SD card using your Windows 10 machine:

Open Windows Explorer
Find the drive letter for your SD card
Right click, and when the menu appears click “Format”
Make sure you format as FAT32.
Reinsert the SD card pins up and power cycle the DAC with the rear switch.

If this does not solve the issue please let me know either here or at service@psaudio.com
We’ll get this solved.

Thanks,

Jeremy, please note that many of us with a long history of using the bridge II don’t have cover art properly showing up with 3.6.2. Cover art works, sort of, with 3.5.1 (some, like me, have problems with switching data rates or format, i.e. 16/44 to 24/96 or to DSF). I rolled back to 2.9.14 and cover art works perfectly. I’m am nearly 100% certain that the problem is not with the SD card. There are many posts throughout the thread regarding cover art issues.

HI amsco15,

Thanks for reaching out.
I want you to know that we absolutely take this seriously and are working on a solution.
Not all customers are having this issue so in the interim it is only good practice to make sure that the card is properly formatted.

If you have subscribed to the newsletter you’ll receive updates about the Bridge II firmware release.
