A 6LP box set that I purchased recently.
Joseph Hayden 12 named symphonies done by
Academy of St. Martin-in-the-fields.

Thanks for that, think I will download it. There is an enjoyable version of the CPE Bach concerto by Arcangelo Jonathan Cohen, also on Hyperion.
Playing this now. Isserlis is a most engaging performer with a good sense of humour and likes to talk.

Nice, will look out to check.
The one I posted is really gorgeous sounding…play it inbetween since 3 days now.
I couldn’t find either this album or the one @jazznut posted on Qobuz or Amazon HD (although not finding stuff on Amazon seems to be the norm). Disappointed.
Hyperion do not put their library with streaming services.
I met their licensing manager at Wigmore Hall and from what I recall they are doing fine without and have no plans to do so. A lot of their roster are regulars at Wigmore Hall and have a strong following in London and in the UK market. Many Wiggies are just getting used to CDs. Last time I heard Isserlis was at Wigmore Hall, the Bach suites over 2 nights with Hyrtag thrown in.

The cover art seemed very familiar, but I do not remember playing this album before. However, I am enjoying it now.
I’ve posted it before, not all that long ago.
Rouse described Gorgon as “… a work of exorcistic rage, an attempt in music to heal by facing that which seems unfaceable.”

Never satisfied with the sound, which I’ve found aggressive, especially in forte passages, I’ve invested in several remasterings of these fabulous performances,. This by far Is the best, most natural sounding of them all.
The playing is astonishing & this remastered Esoteric SACD does it full justice.
Thanks to everyone above for their wonderful suggestions. I am an old rocker learning classical for the most part and it’s been fun on Qobuz just semi randomly clicking on stuff and finding so much great stuff. I saw a previous cellist that I happened upon say Mr Rostropovitch was his idol. I can see why. Great stuff
