When Life Imitates Audio Equipment (or the Other Way Around)

The previous importer had preferred Luxman place the lower controls behind a drop down door similar to the Accuphase approach. Never happened as far as I know. Subsequently the importer changed and MSRP dropped. The Luxman integrated amps are especially nice sounding.

Not a personal problem. I despise everything he designs.

They look slightly less awful in person. But I still wouldn’t own them no matter how good they sound.

A matter of taste…

The outward appearance of the amps certainly seems to be as much about an aesthetic as it is about performance.

On the other hand, the top of the line preamp tickles my fancy and strikes me as having a pleasing balance of form and function.

To each his own.

PS

The “utilitarian” look and functionality of NAGRA gear is particularly appealing to me, as is the perfectly balanced (to my eyes) outward appearance of modern Accuphase gear.

Perfectly matched.

It might be a stretch, but seeing these Odeon Audio Carnegie’s in the poplar finish on Audiogon reminded me of my breakfast this morning.

If the speaker shown is an Acora model it is likely the same granite pattern as the Acora owner’s family has been in the granite business in Canada for decades.
