ps my wife enjoys a glass of wine some evenings, but always drinks it in a tall wineglass, which (in our dispraxic household) is often knocked over.
A more dedicated wine drinker friend of ours has the same issue, and regularly runs out of wine glasses as a result.
I keep telling them both - “for goodness sake drink it from a proper receptacle, like a mug! Much more stable”
They are not convinced.
Hopefully somebody here will school me on why a wine glass is preferred to a mug
Hadn’t had any of their stuff for a very long time, but bought some with a nice rebate deal at the holidays, stocking up for the kids to visit. Got the Plague and not all were able to come, so “stuck” with a bunch of unused SL.
Reminded me of that movie about NoCal winemakers, “Sideways”. I can’t quote the epithet regarding Merlot without the forum software editing me. Back when the movie came out, I felt the same and wouldn’t have touched the stuff. But this is a very nice evolution. Assuming you like CA wine styles and appreciate the role the grape plays in blending so many great wines.
The similarities between wine tasting and describing the sound of Audio Components, and of course the proprietor endorses the indulgent assessment for a quick sell.
OMG, that clip was hysterical. Have to watch that one again.
You may want to slip her a glass of this sometime without telling her what it is. Leave it open for a day or so first. Not to one-up her, but to broaden the definition of the grape, at least as filtered through the CA aesthetic. Yeah! - not bad! sorta thing. At least.
Love where he puts his finger in his ear. My pet peeve with headphone advertisements - a pretty woman singing into a mic always seems to have a hand to one can. Sexy!
Never mind that no one singing into a mic in a studio ever puts their hands to their headphones🤷🏻♂️
I consider stereo equipment to be a fetish so yeah the headphone ad makes complete sense. Gotta go, jazz qt playing tonight, got a meet and greet before hand.
HA, you’ve seen me! If I’m engaged I’m leaning into it hard. We are doing the show in a small local recording studio with great acoustics, Audio for the Arts. An intimate setting.
I’ll try to post a photo tomorrow.
