Your Next Upgrade? (Part 1)

Me too with P12 Sine Wave High Regulation. MW makes difference just a little bit and not better, less open an airy. All PS Audio system.

It is certainly nice to have all of the options.

I don’t believe that! Perhaps your amplification may be built to be impervious to certain outside electrical changes.

What is your inbound voltage?

You might try “high regeneration” instead, if inbound power is not too much out of specification.

227V regulated to 230V, I feel that High Regulation and Sine Wave sound better for me. Next week a brand new P20 will be here and I will take the chance to experiment.

Understood.

Thank you.

I used to prefer MV4. But after a few cable upgrades and Purple fuses addition, the Sine seems to be the best in my system now.

Lazy question for you —

Since you mentioned fuses, what is the proper fuse spec for the P10?

TIA.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I have P15. Sorry I can not help.

Scott it’s the small (5 x 20) 5 amp slow blow fuse for the P10 and P15.

I would love to try high end speaker cables and interconnects. What I am using sounds good but I must wonder how a $10000 speaker cables would sound better than my $1000 speaker cables. Same curiosity over $5000 interconnects over my $500 interconnects. My current cables did favourably replace Cardas Golden Reference speaker cables and interconnects. I would love to try Cardas Clear Beyond in my system. My Audio Art Statement cables still sound pretty good however.

This is not my ad and I don’t know the seller. That being said, if you are looking for a USB to I2S converter I can recommend this device. I have successfully used this with a DS for quite some time.

Here’s Jay’s take on the Cardas. The worst of the worst.

This is a new subject but falls into the “upgrade” category. I have a 30-day trial of HQPlayer that came with the Euphony Summus 2 server. I do not have Roon and am using their Stylus OS (great by the way) and connected to DS by I2S. I tried different settings, but I kept going back to the non-HQP filter setting. To me it sounded cleaner and more nature without it.

The HQP is a complex software filter, and I wonder if I have not found the best combo yet. Does anyone love HQP with DS? If you do, what setting do you like the best? Again, I am not using Roon.

In the USA, the Euphony Summus 2 server is not available yet according to Power Holdings Audio.

I ordered it from Euphony directly. So you’re right, it’s probably not available in US yet.

@mitchb105 You don’t mention what your current speaker cables and interconnects are, but I encourage you to read about the Iconoclast products in the Cables forum.

The nice thing is, they’ll send you sets to demo. You don’t have to spend even $500 to test their products in your own system. (Short version, and I’m sure I’m beating a drum too much here: they’re stunningly good and an amazing value.)

My cables are actually decent. They are Audio Art Statement speaker cables and interconnects. The power cables are Audio Art Statement E2plus cables which are quite nice. My cables are nice but of course there’s always room to improve one day.

When you’re ready, Iconoclast are well worth your consideration. They’re not on the website yet, but the TPC Series II speaker cables are supposed to be even better than the Series I SPTPC. I have the latter in my system for audition, but I have the former on order.

(TPC is Tough-Pitch Copper; SPTPC is Silver Plated TPC.)

There’s a LOT of good reading in the thread about them.
