Now that you mention it, an Esoteric clock is a good upgrade I should consider.
Until you look at the price
My Ethos has performed the same magic. I love spinning silver discs!
Oooh! I almost forgot. Right now I am streaming from my NAS to my Pink Faun to my MU1 to said Ethos. It doesn’t sound worse than internal discs. And I put the NAS in the office that I share with the wife, and the constant grinding drives her nuts. Bonus! Oops, and the new fuse. It seems nice.
Bill Evans, “You Must Believe In Spring” Remaster 2022. (24.192 AIFF)
I love this fuse!
Benchmarks in this hobby move higher and higher all the time!
I just listened to an entire Diana Krall album.
Now I know how Tammy Fay Baker felt.
Sigh.
I’m “that guy” now.
Dead Kennedys next.
I moved and connected my NAS directly to my EtherREGEN which the Pink Faun and Grimm MU1 are connected to. I moved it to the room under the stairs where my audio power lives. I gave it it’s own dedicated 20 amp circuit, one of the five I had installed when I had the house built. I used a Shunyata Delta NR to its power brick and a fancy red Wireworld Ethernet cable. I may uograde the power cable if and when I get some loaners back. I’m not thinking Stealth this time but who knows?
I may finally be getting serious about this here audio stuff.
No Linear Power Supply for the NAS?
Not yet. Its got a funny DIN connector that I will have to research.
I don’t see a fuse on it either. Hmmmmmm.
Farad now offers the new Super10 (available mid 2022). It comes with an SR purple fuse, so no worries about that…
That would count right?
Thanks. Our rooms and equipment are indeed quite similar. Even the placement of the speakers on the long wall and the distance to them. I haven’t tried putting the RELs on the outside…room size restrictions to some degree in my case as well and sheer laziness. But as it is, the system sounds great.
Fuses and power cords powering streaming LPS so do count. I wish they didn’t. But that’d be another audiophile nightmare something that doesn’t matter.
Yes indeed.
Perhaps a GX-13 or 4 pin GX-16
I think the Farad Super 10 is going to be between $2600-$3k US
I put the SR Purple in the P20 this week which I’m enjoying. I waiting to hear back from Jason at the Cable Company to order my Audio Magic M1. I have to keep navigating the rabbit hole otherwise I might get stuck.
Yep…so as we keep navigating…do we ever look to get stuck
in the happy place?..Hmmmmm wonderment
Enjoy your navigations!!
Best wishes
Yes, insane price. And probably worth it.
The question is who’s going to put it on their Matrix Spdif or DSD analog board?
I’ll probably give it a try. Right now the Super 3 with Purple fuse is my secret sauce making the Matrix perform far better than you can imagine. The DC cable also makes as much difference as the fuse if not more. The Farad and Matrix is the secret ingredients to make the I2s perform WAY superior to the USB format. All these little things add up to make the DS perform to another level.
