I find that Scott to be gorgeous.
Any idea as to where it was manufactured?

Last week I replaced the Gold Lion tubes in my BHK Pre. I had as spare a matched quartet from VivaTubes.
One produced an annoying white noise from the left speaker, after 2 days of break in I swapped it. Then a second one was bad since I installed it. I was thinking at that point that the BHK had a faulty board or some other issue. I promised to myself “never more tubes in my life!”
Then I finally got lucky and the last one worked fine without problems! From hell to heaven. Since that moment I’m thinking “Ah, how magical could be the sound with tubes!”.
Each time I replace tubes, also in my M1200s, I feel the same pain and joy!
That’s the reason why I always purchase matched quartets and not pairs. A bad way to throw money from my window!
A Scott Stereomaster! I have always wanted one. Fantastic!
Good grief!!!
It was manufactured in Maynard, Mass
The integrated amp is sitting next to it.
They are both lifetime keepers. They should be in your Will.
How I would have learnt this lesson before! I need to stay away from this forum, an inexhaustible source of temptations.
Honestly I have to thank Paul and PS Audio family, that are respectfully accepting (and paying for) a forum where people can share opinions about other brands. Hat off!
Got them in the late 70s when I ws 13. My uncle gave them to me.
They are staying with me to the end. Which will be no time soon if i have my way.
Luckily my daughter is getting into audio, hopefully she will appreciate them.
I’m using this Argento Audio AES/EBU cable that the importer is generosity loaning to me because I hadn’t one at home to feed the PST during MSB DAC trial period

Anyone already experienced the brand?
Never used an AES/EBU cable before, is there a general consensus on best ones? No Dragons available, phew!

Before you make a decision about the MSB is there anyway you can get a listen to the Aqua Formula from Milano?
My last purchase from Vivatubes produced a bad one too. I may need to buy from somewhere else. I still have a healthy stack of tubes that should last for a few years.
I counted my SACDs and they have grown to over 300 now, and I have another shipment from Japan soon. So, my next DAC needs to read them and TSS is it, I believe.
Take a look at Tubulus Concentus AES cable. I just got in the Concentus USB cable.
Also Pink Faun which you know you like makes an AES cable. 750 Euros for 100 cm as opposed to 499 for the Tubulus.
Review #2 - Music has much more weight, body, and heft.
I thought their cables are as expensive as AQ Dragon, if not more. They are not that popular here I am sure.
In terms of performance/price ratio the Sablon is one of the best I heard.
Thanks, I’ll take a look at those cables.
Despite I live close to Milan, Aqua is not on my radar for a few reasons like home audition chances, PS Audio used MK II value trade in and most of all I really wasn’t on the market for a new DAC. The MSB opportunity suddenly happened totally unexpected a week ago, when I met the importer (not a dealer) because he lives 5 miles from me and invited me to do a home audition after a 2 hours talk! A very nice guy. Life is odd!
Review #3 - It sounds really good at low volumes. The volume is super linear, you don’t feel like you are missing anything at low levels.
Yes, he’s a dealer. Not as bad as a drug dealer, but very close.
What about background silence? Are you streaming music or are there even analog tests in your plans?
I’d say it’s quieter. I haven’t measured with an SPL yet, but all evening I felt I could listen louder then I normally do.
There’s zero tube rush when there’s nothing playing.
I suppose I’ll have to play a few LP’s. It seems like such a chore, but I will.
I did setup the HT Bypass and watched about an hour of TV. Picard on Paramount TV. It sounded fantastic. Lots of great energy, particularly in the space battles.
