There will always be a better cable, fuse or isolation component. Well at least one that provides for a different presentation. One must keep in mind it’s all an illusion we are chasing.

Yes to us in control of the changes they all seem big. It is good when we receive reinforcing confirmation. Right now I am happy not having the mk2 sound drift and achieving a magical illusion affecting someone, other than myself, who can be hypercritical of what I hear. Nothing is worse than spending hundreds or thousands on something different and losing the magic. At least it seems to be there with every piece of music. I hate it when only the best recordings return excitement. Right now my system can play anything well too

That’s one serious looking USB cable! Now you realize how much better the USB input can get to the I2S input, but only on the MK2. Not the MK1, on the MK1, the USB input is really bad, even with the ChordMusic USB could not rescue it from mediocrity.

I’m wondering if the USA market missed out on tuning cups, they were the ultimate tweak, branded with different precious metals, just like the fuse business. Now all no doubt in the great galactic audio skip in the sky.

Maybe you can explain to me what you think they “improved” in the design as I read the published specs, such as they are, and don’t see anything different other than a price increase. They make changes to this limited almost decade old product when parts obsolescence forces them to. Unless your enamored with the app or the ability to talk to it you can buy a Zen Stream and an upgraded LPS for less and have a far better sounding streamer. I’ve had it in my system twice six years apart and found no difference in sound. Once head to head against the long discontinued Aries Mini and again when I bought one for my Alexa enamored daughter and tried it to make sure it worked. Same impression both times. If you’re an Amazon Music fan or just use it to audition albums for purchase on CD or Vinyl then it can serve a purpose but buy one of the recently discontinued units at a discount.
changed dac chip
From one un-named chip to another except what they think is a more recognizable brand name and not likely by choice. That’s not how Bluesound works. You can buy those ESS chips designed for phones for next to nothing. Their selling point still comes down to the one size fits all app that you can talk to with Alexa and that they use across the entire Bluesound and NAD line.
