Are You Using The Stock Power Cord To Power Your Power Plant?

Two incoming. I can always move up from these. I was leaning towards the Cable Company’s lending library, but upon seeing these I figured what the hay! Considering they were available from an authorized PSA dealer, or at least at one time, I didn’t see much risk in pursuing them.

The AC12 has a really good rep and you got them at such a good price. Congrats!

Thank-you for the nudge. Now I can get back to music and not worry about equipment. Well at least until my component rack arrives. Should anyone else be interested in a 1 M AC-12, after purchasing new, I received an offer for a used one at an attractive price. PM me if interested and I’ll provide the contact info.

I have tried a few PC for my P15 in the past year. First I replaced the PS AC5 with a AQ Thunder and heard some improvement. The next is a Stealth Dream10, it improved the resolution and details, but the bass is not as tight and deep as the AQ. My most recent discovery is a Canadian company called Zavfino. Their OCC Silver Dart PC is by far the best one I have heard. It is so good that I am ordering another one to compare with my Silnote Orion for DAC.

This cable-go-round for a PSA regenerator is really something. I have tried many and still feel there are better ones out there. You ears and synergy created with your gear is the final word. I would add that, in general, as you go up the food chain they sound better. My most recent finding is that those cables that are designed specifically to be in front of regenerators are better. For example, an XC vs. an NR type from Shunyata, is better with a P20.

My experience is limited to PLC and not regenerators but having tried a bunch of power cords in front of simple inexpensive PLC and those costing over $4k, the ones that combine both NR and large gauge (7 gauge), sounded better.

Usual caveats of YMMV and, of course, just my 2¢.

And if the power cord resembles an ice cream cone well shucks, yer there.

Your ice cream cones are fascinating and so is your humor.

The main thing is get the largest gauge cable you can for the regenerator. You don’t want to restrict any current to the regenerator.

Size does matter…and design, and materials, and cost, and…the beat goes on.

I don’t have Al’s Stealth power cords, but I have his next best, the NBS Omega Extreme O’s. This is one hell of a power cord for a regenerator. Extremely high resolution.

I am switching to discrete welding rod, 1/4 inch diameter.
Dipped in chocolate, with sprinkles.

That seems kind of flimsy. I would use 3/4" x 10’ ground rods instead, only $50 a piece.

Let us know how the sugar shielding improves the sound. Is that a dark chocolate or milky layering?

Dark, like my men.

So how about rainbow sherbet…raspberry…lime or orange…
these flavors would make a very vibrant tasty sound…

Then there is fila-mint flavor for tube lovers…

Or rocky road for rythm n blues…

Will you be wetting them too?

Yes, it’s best to wet them. It’s more conductive and measures much better wet.

Under British regulations solder is not permitted in power terminals due to possible overloading thus causing the solder to melt and causing a weak connection.

Can a kind soul please tell me what size (AWG) power cord comes with the Stellar Power Plant P3?

Thanks.
