For the record, album art remains an imperfect work in progress. Run a playlist of mixed data rates or file types. Maybe the next update.
Yes. I see that too. Even though I have DSD over PCM selected, it doesnāt seem to show up on the DS Sr as DOP and it is missing from the audio path. When I play something back using Jriver with DOP set it works fine.
I normally send the original file to the DS Sr. and let it do itās magic by upsampling to 20x DSD. But since you asked, I thought that I would check it out.
Since I did the Bridge update, my DSJ has been periodically changing the volume to 50 during playback, which is very annoying. And thatās using USB, not the Bridge.
How do I fix that?
Did you lose power recently? I believe that 50 is the default volume level that the DS Jr. powers up with.
I used to think that there was something wrong until I lost power one day when I was using it (brown-out). When the DSJr came back on, it was at 50 volume.
You can simulate this yourself by turning the DS Jr off by the switch in the back, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
My problem is that it resets to 50 during playback. In the middle of a song.
I also could not updateā¦bought MConnect HDā¦no option to set up player device, no notice about update at allā¦it does connect to the bridge but that is it.
No set up options

I switched to latest snowmass and it worked

FYI, I have the mconnect control application. It is/looks like this one: Mconnect Control
I can take no (knowing) credit for having done anything to cause the update to finally show up. I fiddled with the Bridge II settings and screens and tried multiple DS DAC reboots over a couple of hours yesterday to no avail.
I kept checking the mcontrol Device Setup settings as well and lo and behold the update finally appeared out the Ether(net). 
My best (non-technical, hunch) guess is that the internet connection needed some sort of reset or trigger to ultimately deliver the message that an update was available.
I donāt know if the Bridge would have ever indicated that an update was available because in my haste I pulled the trigger on the mconnect update route as soon as I saw the update was available.
I know it might not make any sense but have you tried to power down all of the bits and pieces that make up your network (from the incoming signal at the router all the way through to your DAC) and rebooting from the router on down to the DAC? This āsophisticatedā approach to network troubleshooting often works for me.
Hang in there and let us know what finally works/appears to work for you.

My update showed up on the DSā¦ BUT . its been undating for about 15 minutesā¦SIGHHHHH
If it goes on for three hours should I stop it and reset it???

As far as I can tell, it has already gone on too long.
I would try a soft reboot (donāt leave a SD card in with a firmware on it) and try again after the DAC has āinitializedā.

Did you try shutting ALL OF IT down (de-enegerizing) for at lease five minutes and then bringing everything back up one at a time starting with the router and working down to the DAC?
Turning it off and on again. Thatās all I got!
