Cable Synergy?

Earth is a great performance and value in the AQ lineup. Fire imo is slightly better and uses silver where as earth is copper but both should be very good for the system.

Thanks,Paul

I forgot about monster cable, and Synergistic Research. They’ve both been around for a while, and raised the importance of cables in audio. I never thought much of the monster cable products, especially their “power enhancers”, but I bought several Synergistic power cords back in the 80’s. They really made a difference. What Synergistic sells now might be considered snake oil by many.

Synergistic cables are definitely not snake oil, especially their Galileo series. Everytime I put one in my system, it takes it to another level. Try one of Galileo SX series cable and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

OK, I should not generalize like that. In fact, I bought one of Ted Denny’s power cables a few days ago. It was a UEF Blue high voltage PC, and probably the bottom of the line.

There’s no snake oil in cables. All the cables and power cords I have tried all sounded different. Granted many of them are priced at a level beyond reach for many, but the top-of-line cables/cords all sounded better than their lower levels.

I mean, I have yet to find a top line cable sounding worse than their lower line. However, your system needs to be a certain level too to appreciate them better. Unfortunately there’s no cheap Dragon slayer that I have found, you need a bigger dragon to do that.

Yes, top end cables are just that, they’re in another league. I took my Galileo SX speaker cables over to a friend who wanted to see how good the cables are, and he kept on saying Wow! He said everything sounded more 3D and separate from each other so much more clearly! He was using some Analysis Plus Oval’s at the time. Granted, the SR’s cost much more, but after hearing it he couldn’t go back, he went out and bought a pair of Galileo SX speaker cables right away.

Diminishing returns indeed.

Top line Stealth cables are very respectable too, Al.

Whew!

I am curious as to what the bottom of the Stealth line cables are like. Not curious enough to try them. If it doesn’t cost the same as a High Level SUV, it can’t be worthwhile.

My plan of that top Stealth cable continued to elude me, now that my fund has moving towards another vacation

“If it doesn’t cost the same as a High Level SUV, it can’t be worthwhile.”

There might be more truth to that statement than you think. I find most lower and mid line cables a little wanting in performance compared to top end stuff, no matter what brand. We get spoiled with this top end stuff.

“my fund has moving towards another vacation”

Your wife should keep you occuplied with vacations to stop you from foolishly spending so much money on your toys.

I know there will be STEALTH cables in your near future, Sakra especially from your MU2 to your brand new amp(s). And then the power cords. And… I know that you already know that!

As many of you know, I’m a big fan of Synergistic stuff and use it throughout my system. I have taken the Pepsi challenge versus many other highly regarded cable brands and, dollar for dollar, even their current entry level stuff (Foundation SX) will smoke cables at twice or three times their price (looking at you, Nordost, and I formerly had a full loom of their cables).

Spend some time learning the SR product hierarchy, and by regularly checking Agon and USAM and you can do quite well. In my experience, a big reason that there is a good supply of used SR stuff is because people like me are regularly climbing the ladder, freeing up a bunch of stuff for others.

There is definitely a consistent “house sound” to their stuff up and down the line, which I happen to really like.

Are some of their advertising claims off-putting for many? Definitely. In part, I believe that’s because they are trying protect details of their IP, which is to be expected by any manufacturer.

Beyond loving what SR stuff does in my system, I have no other interest at stake…

You know me better than anyone that I thought knew me😆 I cannot even think of anything to add from your assessment on my unhealthy state of mind.

Back to topic, cables synergy. Don’t know why but along my journey I always went for full loom. At least speaking of power cords: Invictus Ricable (Italian brand) and AQ Dragon for instance. While I mixed and matched Interconnects and digital cables like Iconoclast, Inakustik, Intona, Sablon, AQ, Network Acoustics, Nordost, Pink Faun, Argento Audio among others. I experienced less brands as for speaker cables.
Lately I had to change my mind, going full loom STEALTH for all of my system, no matter which kind on connection in my house. I’m afraid that once I finished with my listening room I will have to continue with the kitchen, bedroom, garden and my office and the street outside, the municipal square of my village, the highway, the lakes and mountains and beaches, the entire country, the entire planet till the moon…

Someone free me from this spell, I’ve been bewitched!

Your spell is so deep, and I’m afraid everyone trying to help you would be sucked into that dark abyss along with you too.

I want to say get away from this forum, but I know you know that is impossible. So, take more vacations to give yourself a little peace of mind.

If you can afford it, there seems to be no downside to Stealth cables.

There are a limited V17’s left so they say. Lucky for everyone interested like Al said they cost as much as an SUV so they aren’t selling out fast.

You can own a Sakra V17LE and own an SUV.
Said the owner of same cable, and a Honda.
Notice I don’t frequent the ‘We also love cars”
topic. Got to pick a lane as it were.
