Could you give our service team a call at 1-800-PSAUDIO? We may have to do some troubleshooting on that one.
Updated successfully using the Method 2 in the pdf.
Version reflects the latest firmware 3.2.1
FPGA 239-BLUE SKY
USB 3.02.a91f
So far so good.
Thank you PS Audio team!
Well, it did result in my trying this download install myself for the first time in a while and all went well so. . . but odd not to be able to ship domestically.
We had an issue earlier in the day with the website. It should be fixed. If you are still experiencing the problem, shoot us a call. We can always enter it in manually for you
Thanks. I donāt need to order one now, I managed to download properly and apply to the device myself.
Just updated to the latest version. Everything went smoothly and is working except never like the burn-in after the updateā¦
Canāt tell if it sounds better right away, if anything it sounded slightly drier than massive in my system, hopefully within a week itāll come back to life.
For the last two hours I have been playing SACDs only from PST/MK2 with the latest Bluesky FW, and it sounded beautiful. I like the sound better than streaming from Grimm MU2/Muon Pro combo even, and that was not the case two days ago. Could it be due to the FW update? I hope so, but it could be due to a new grounding box I added to MK2 too.
Update completed, and both firmware and fpga show correct new versions are loaded in the menu. Weird thing now is my remote will not work for the MKII, even though it continues to function for other PSA components. Iāve done hard reboot, reloaded both the new fw and fpga, and this issue is still there. Anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions?
Update: tried different remote, same issue. Reverted to firmware 3.1.0, but kept fpga update to Mt. Blue Sky. Now remote works. Not sure why the issue with my remote and the new firmwareā¦?
Update #2, of course, Caleb our great rep at PS Audio got me fixed right away. Somehow, Iād inadvertantly switched the IR Enable code in the System menu (which is one before the Firmware Update screen) to ā2ā, and for me it needs to be the default ā1ā. Mystery solved!
I have been listening mostly to vinyl lately that I have almost forgotten how good digital can sound and this latest update sure didnāt hurt it. The MK2 never sounded better. Thank you Paul and Ted!
Successfully updated my MK2 with method 1 after realizing one of my USB sticks was a dud. Switched to a known working one and all is well.
Is it me or is the volume (very) slightly louder? I donāt believe I accidentally turned a volume knob or anything. Or maybe itās due to being rebooted. I recall that being a thingā¦ It definitely does not sound worse than Massive after the update.
Never good to make more than one change at a time.
I knew you could do it!
From my perspective, and you know this has been my long held stance, is that streaming is getting better all the time, but it still does not best good vinyl, cdās, and hi-res.
Having owned the MK with mods, the PST, and subsequently the MU2 and Jayās, they are both great combos and the differences can easily be attributed more to the source than the units themselves.
No surprise here that a smokinā SACD rocks on the PSA gear with the new upgrade. This should reinforce your decision to retain your vaulted SACDās. It all begins at the source.
Wow! A noticeable improvement in all areas, great work Ted as usual!
I remember when I updated Massive the last time, it took three days to sound its best (it was a big massive makeover), itās very possible Blue Sky will sound even better later. I have some selections for PST/MK2 tomorrow
There is also a new operating manual update (Rev E) that is available to be downloaded too.
Support - Manuals.
Now includes info regarding connecting AirLens by SConnect (whatever that is).
Updated this evening. Seemed a bit dry initially so I left it for a couple of hours then came back and itās lovely!! What a treat. Christmas has come early
Thank you, Paul, Ted and team!!
The update from Massive to Blue Sky went smoothly. I have both versions on a USB stick, so I can easily switch between Massive and Blue Sky to compare. Thereās nothing mentioned in the documentation about the sonic differences between this FPGA version and the previous one. My first impression when listening is that Blue Sky sounds different, a bit drier, and the soundstage feels slightly narrower, but based on past experience with updates, it needs 100+ hours to fully open up. Itāll be exciting to listen going forward
I thought the MK2 stores multiple versions onboard. Or did I dream that?
Over 18 hours of constant playing and the performance is sublime. Usually after installing new firmware the sound is meh for a while until it settles down but I havenāt experienced anything thatās bothered me so far. I havenāt had the urge to swap back to Mount Massive to compare against Blue Sky, which is a good sign. The sound is very similar to Mount Massive; Blue Sky is more polished, thereās more insight, itās smoother, clearer, cleaner, and the sound / music is more open and detailed in the midrange ā¦ The musicians have stepped out that bit further. Top to bottom it sounds better. All the music Iāve played thus far sounding more natural. That said, Blue Sky hasnāt reduced Mount Massive to a molehill
