I figured since I have been such a fanboy of the Eversolo DMP-A6 I have to try this power supply out for you guys. But it brings the price up to a most unholy $1400!! (before cables)

Who has that kind of money to throw around on audio gear??

Cables are only $20k so no worries there.

Seriously though, removing all 115v AC and power supply parts from inside the device and replacing them with wires that deliver an abundance of clean DC power. It seems like a no-brainer. And I believe I have the no-brain for it.

And it will be my first experience with Teddy Pardo products.

I think if you own the Master version you can expect a much bigger bang for your $505 dollars than you would get if you spent the same amount of money on a fuse or a power cable.

I am also thinking if what @paul172 experienced when he upgraded the power supply on his Auralic Aries G2. He is sold. I will be too.

I sure noticed an improvement when I updated the power cord on my Master Edition. I guess the question is how well the Teddy Pardo delivers power. I’m glad we know people like you with bags o money who are willing to test it out for us.

$505.00 is bags of money? You would be a cheap date I guess.

@Elk can you UNSOLVE this thread? Every time I post in it I get the This thread is solved box. In my opinion the “Solved” button function on this forum should be disabled.

I wonder if a better power cord will make a difference plugged into the external power supply? Maybe you can try that as well.

Got that right. Buy me a bag of chips and we’re good to go.

Looks much simpler than swapping in the Hoer-Wege PS in the Aries G1 which took about 45 minutes. You can probably expect a similar conversion kit it the near future from Alvin and Jay at LHY.

It may be a while but I’d guess Alvin the Denafrips/Jay’s Audio/LHY guy may have one built for sale for the Everesolos like this Bluesound bundle. https://www.beatechnik.com/bluesound-node2-lps-mod

Teddy P makes good stuff.

Oh man, I just had a thought that disturbs me a great deal.
Inside the DMP-A6 is a power circuit board that allows 115V in and outputs to a little plug.
The Teddy Pardo system has you remove all that and ends with the same little plug.

Sooooooo

I could leave the plug from the internal supply plugged in.
Listen and listen well.

Power down and simply disconnect the plug from the internal supply and instead use the plug from the Teddy Pardo wiring to power the unit. Power up.
Listen and listen well.

If I don’t hear or appreciate an improvement, off the Teddy Pardo goes.
But if I do hear a nice improvement, out of the chassis goes the internal supply.

The tricky part is the case has to be open to do this, and probably standing on it’s side like the instructions suggest. This could lead to damage and then I could be out almost $900.

I am going up to my cabin today to fetch my DMP-A6. That way when the Teddy Pardo arrives I’ll have it here at home where I can listen to it on my best system. Neat.

I may not do the comparison I mentioned above. But just as Vmax SHOULD HAVE tried a second Master Fuse I should maybe try this.

The only thing is I cannot decide what special feet to put under the A6 when it is split wide open and standing in it’s side. Which feet would enhance it in that state? It’s a puzzler.

And I would also want to listen to it with it’s internal DAC in both conditions. Hmmm.

This is such a fun hobby! Especially at these prices!

I think nearly frozen Jello would be a good choice for anti vibe support while the box is open.

Or maybe a couple of stacks of $10k in $100’s. That way you could fine tune by adding or removing a bill or two until you get the sonic signature you are looking for.

So, as I understand it, you want to listen to it still opened up and standing on its side? I assume you would do that the whole time you are evaluating it. Why not reassemble it. Couldn’t you put it back to original later if you didn’t like it?

You don’t appear to understand clearly.

With it in it’s original form, opened up, all you have to do to switch from the internal supply to the external supply is unplug one little white plug and plug in another.

(look at picture number two to see the little white plug) It would take seconds.
(In picture number 6 you see the white plug in the lower right connected to the wires for the external supply. These don’t have to be fully installed to use the external supply. Just some care needed to not tip it all over.) (So Jello feet are right out)

Otherwise one would have to assemble, listen, disassemble and reassemble, then listen.

The talk about what feet to use was a Joke. [Humor]

I bet that Teddy Pardo power upgrade will make an audible difference. The DMP-A6 is just such a good little $900 marvel friend. About time they set out a new firmware innit?

They were coming quickly at first. There are a couple of features I would like to see them add to my Qobuz app.

It is getting ready to be released they also mentioned that Amazon certification isn’t there / is closer but are still pursuing. Which for me, was a good thing to hear.
