Does your transport support other output connections? Say coax, TOSLink, or XLR. If so, getting the bit perfect test running without the current I2S confusion about I2S might be the way to go.
After you make the change. Stop and restart the source to update the display.
I’ll try that. I’m doing testing right now. To me it sounds correct, just the posted numbers are weird. I have an old Chesky CD that does polarity tests I’ll listen to next. Thanks. I’ll probably wait for the next updates which we know they are always trying to righten things. Too much dickens around when I can hear it both ways as is.

I too have a Jay’s Audio (CDT2 Mk III) and although my I2S still reads 44.1/24 I found a Black Cat coaxial cable and tried that with Jay’s Audio and it shows 44.1/16. And as sixpack 1 has suggested you should stop and restart the source to update the display.
As I noted in an earlier post I have not yet upgraded to the 2.5 updates.
BTW; The Back Cat cable is a Slverstar! 75 Mk. II and the sound is comparable to the I2S Audioquest Firebird HDMI cable I’ve been using (at least in early listening)!; consistent with Ted’s view that all inputs are pretty comparable (although depending on people’s systems and their audiophile ears YMMV).
Switched back to I2S after coax showed up as 44.1/16 and now I2S also reads 44.1/16.
So the correction using both coax and !2S came after restarting your Jay’s Transport?
Sad to say that loud pops are back for me with 2.5.0 and Antero 208. It happens as before when changing between tracks with different DSD resolutions.
This had been resolved with antero 198 ![]()
What is your DSD source?
Switched to coax. Initially showed 44.1/24. Restarted Jay’s transport now read 44.1/16. then switched back to I2S input which then read 44.1/16.
I take it all back both inputs now read 44.1/24. So I’ll just give up for now.
Roon into Holo RED streamer. It happens consistently using I2S into the DS. When using USB only happens when changing from a DSD64 or DSD128 track to a DSD256 one
The MK II will display 44.1/16 when the source is stopped or paused (then no bits are changing so it can’t tell.)
@tedsmith I will downgrade to Antero 198 and test again. I assume I can stay on FW 2.5.0, correct?
With the red it always show 441/24. Now matter what I do.
Mine sounds great and I’m done bupping around with it. It stays at 24 in either Polarity mode and I rarely peep at the display anyway. PS Audio will fix the display of numbers and polarity issue and at that point I’ll do the FPGA and/or UI and/or update. They know about the issue and they always fix things pretty quickly. My streamer thru coax reads at 48/16…

As others have said, it doesn’t affect the sound if the problem is in the Mk II. It will get fixed, it’s nothing to worry about now.

It still could be. But it will be a lot easier to find when the Mk II stops “lying”
Hi @tedsmith, I went back to 198-antero and the loud pops disappeared again. I do like the SQ of 208 better than 198 but the pops are unbearable and potentially harmful to my speakers.
Any chance of a fix to the loud pop issue while keeping the SQ improvements in a not so distant update?
I will very probably be able to keep the sound quality when fixing the pops. I’ll PM you if I have something that may work for you, but it probably won’t be this next week.
