;it does not see usb drive. what should it be formated to?
I put both img and FPGA files in an old USB and follow the steps. FW was updated but 198 never showed up. It only shows 179.
FAT32 will work
Was âfpga1_198_Antero.binâ in the FPGA load menu when you used it?
Followed the instructions in section 2 of the .txt file and the update did its thing without any issues. The version screen shows 198-Antero for the FPGA and the music is flowing, so all is good. Thanks Ted.

And just in case - have you tried powering the Mk II off with the back switch, putting in the USB thumb and then turning the Mk II on? It only reads the directory of possible FPGA loads on power up (AFAIK)

I did the same thing powering off and on, only 179 is in the menu; the 198 does not show up. Iâll try again later.

Did you follow the instructions in section 2 of the âHow to Upgrade DSD MK2 firmware.txtâ file?
With an FPGA load you pick a file in the load FPGA menu and it loads it, no blinking lights, etc. just a progress screen as it erases, loads and verifies the load. Then it prompts you for a reboot which is very quick.
The FPGA load menu is populated by reading the USB stick. If the USB stick isnât working you canât see 179 in the menu, if you see anything in the menu the USB stick is working and it will show you the FPGA files on your USB stick to pick from.

Nor could i find 198 listed as an option
would assume its not reading the USB

have not had issues in past months with this drive and other updates
we dot unzip the .bin files correctâŠi was unable to anyway
exFAT did not work with earlier updates. I had no problem with FAT. Suggest you try that. Good luck!

(Turning the Mk II off with the rear switch before putting the USB stick in and then turning it on after putting in the USB stick should reliably cause the Mk II to read your USB stick. - I need to suggest to PS Audio that this be explicit in the instructions.)
apologiesâŠfollowed directions completely. Like other user I did not see 198 as a selection nor did I get blinking lights etc on the firmware update. Ive reformatted to FAT and am trying again
Thatâs probably the issue. PS Audio DACs have forever worked best (or only at all) with FAT32 formatted sticks.
My MK2 read the usb stick without powering off, the file didnât show initially, deleted other non related files from the root folder, then the file was available for loading.
