They are the same basic technology as the 300s but scaled up to be twice their size. Some of the innovations necessary to do that are some crazy wild wiring and massive amounts of power supply, but still, the same technology.
Got it, thanks
You need to at least add a cool meter…a hook!
- 2 x 300 W at 8 Ohm stereo, class A-D
- 700 W at 8 Ohm mono, class A-D
- 1200 W at 4 Ohm mono, class A-D tube-solid state hybrid
- 2 x 250 W at 4 Ohm stereo, class A/B tube solid state hybrid
- 300 W at 4 Ohm mono, class A/B tube solid state hybrid
- 600 W (expect) at 4 Ohm, class A/B tube solid state hybrid (also assumption)
There is only one substitute for cubic inch, … more … !
But why the Tesla? - to help feed the BHK 600 when at home, extra capacity boost of the remaining energy left in the Tesla?
You’re wrong on the output. The 300W Mono’s are into 8 Ohm and 600W into
4 Ohm.
And wouldn’t that follow, the BHK 600s would be 600 into 8 ohms, and 1,200 watts into 4 ohms?
Yes it would. That was my point. PSAudio unfortunately for specs, quotes their output from the Class D Amps into 4 which is confusing if you don’t read the spec or own one. I own the 300’s.
Will you be able to avoid cooling fans?
Also, anyone have any new info about the soon forthcoming new BHK 500 stereo and BHK 600 monos?
Will they still use 6922 tubes?
How many will they use? A pair in the BHK 500 stereo or four tubes?
I am also interested to hear more about them.
I heard that it will have 600W per channel
But how much of that in class A?
Phil…that is a good question but it seems that I have read
about 1 watt enough to address the zero cross over notch.
Hi Paul,
With more power comes more headroom and a better sound.
Question will be: New BHK 500 stereo Vs Older BHK 300 monos?
I’m leaning towards the new BHK 500 stereo.
Dave (from Australia).
Each BHK600 mono will have a 4 tube input stage.
I think they’ll use the P20 chassis without the handles or display.
Handles for that size chassis are a must. Also, why not take advantage of display already designed into the chassis, and have VU meters?
I think it will have both (P20 handles and front meter).
It will look awesome with both however.
I’m holding off buying the BHK 250 or 300 for now.
Waiting a few months till the release, but undecided at this stage whether to go for the BHK 500 stereo or BHK 600?
Paul mentioned in a video no handles or meters. Maybe he’ll change his mind.
I suspect cost may be the consideration.
