I only tried mine in the power regenerator. If you have one I would start there. I f not a power distribution system.
If that is not fused I would pick the component most sensitive to power cable upgrades or in your digital streaming chain. Or the component that was most affected during purple fuse upgrades.
I donāt have a regenerator. I have a Keces balanced power conditioner which does not use a fuse. It has a circuit breaker. It would need go in a component. Preamp? Amp? PST?
I would swap back to the original fuse in each device individually. . The one where your system loses the most magic is ripe for placing the best fuse in future.
I would try it in each component for a week and see which one gives you the best benefit. I would also ad the P20 to your must have list! It has changed everything in my system to levels I canāt believe. Good luck!
Looks as though yo actually may, as you didnāt jump on the SR Purple bandwagon, and now the M1 is knocking on your door. Well, maybe not as SR will ultimately counter with another color. Maybe we should do a poll on the next SR Fuse Color. Winner gets all the old M1s stranded by the new SR. LOL.
Fuses, Iāll take a pass, or at least wait it out.
The purple fuses were absolutely a worthwhile exercise. My system sounds much better for the upgraded purple fuses. That said the M-1 fuses have peeked my interest. The purple fuses were $137 whereas the M-1 fuses are $300.That is a significant difference in price.
Indeed it is a significant price difference, as ar the SR compared to a standard Bussman or Littlefuse. Nothing wrong with fuse upgrades IMO. It is a matter of priorities and fine tuning your system. Iām just not getting on the Merry-Go-Round at the moment.
edit: Imagine what upgrading the fuse holder it self would bring to the game.
Iād think the following parameters would be ideal, extremely tight fit, as in gas tight and with clamps that are precisely the same material as the fuse end caps. Theyād need to be sourced by the fuse manufacturer, and would not be as popular as the fuse upgrade due to the installation labor involved. For the moment Iām assuming internal fuse holders soldered in place as shown in the Pink Faun. Externally accessible holders should have minimal labor.
Well fuses are also a trip to the fun house. But one can just buy a whole fun house too for the price of a modest set of audiophile cables, amps, and speakers. Fuses are still a bargain.
