Purple fuse upgrade

I only tried mine in the power regenerator. If you have one I would start there. I f not a power distribution system.

If that is not fused I would pick the component most sensitive to power cable upgrades or in your digital streaming chain. Or the component that was most affected during purple fuse upgrades.

In your regenerator. That’s the best place for your best cable and fuse!

I don’t have a regenerator. I have a Keces balanced power conditioner which does not use a fuse. It has a circuit breaker. It would need go in a component. Preamp? Amp? PST?

You really need to consider a PS Audio P20.
They are excellent. You would enjoy the upgrade immensely.
You are worth it.

I would swap back to the original fuse in each device individually. . The one where your system loses the most magic is ripe for placing the best fuse in future.

Patience has its rewards.

I have no time for patience.

I would try it in each component for a week and see which one gives you the best benefit. I would also ad the P20 to your must have list! It has changed everything in my system to levels I can’t believe. Good luck!

I’ll check out the P20. Thanks

Don’t forget to get a M-1 to put in your P20, that’s icing on the cake.

Looks as though yo actually may, as you didn’t jump on the SR Purple bandwagon, and now the M1 is knocking on your door. Well, maybe not as SR will ultimately counter with another color. Maybe we should do a poll on the next SR Fuse Color. Winner gets all the old M1s stranded by the new SR. LOL.

Fuses, I’ll take a pass, or at least wait it out.

The purple fuses were absolutely a worthwhile exercise. My system sounds much better for the upgraded purple fuses. That said the M-1 fuses have peeked my interest. The purple fuses were $137 whereas the M-1 fuses are $300.That is a significant difference in price.

Well, the Purple are 200 when not on sale but still the M-1 are significantly more expensive.

As stunning an improvement as the Purple was I might try an M-1 next time I have audio money to burn.

Indeed it is a significant price difference, as ar the SR compared to a standard Bussman or Littlefuse. Nothing wrong with fuse upgrades IMO. It is a matter of priorities and fine tuning your system. I’m just not getting on the Merry-Go-Round at the moment.

edit: Imagine what upgrading the fuse holder it self would bring to the game.

e.g. Rhodium plated fuse holders?

This one didn’t last a day, one of you guys grab it?
It was listed for $5500

what’s next?

I’d think the following parameters would be ideal, extremely tight fit, as in gas tight and with clamps that are precisely the same material as the fuse end caps. They’d need to be sourced by the fuse manufacturer, and would not be as popular as the fuse upgrade due to the installation labor involved. For the moment I’m assuming internal fuse holders soldered in place as shown in the Pink Faun. Externally accessible holders should have minimal labor.

Oh, I didn’t sell it, I just noticed it last night and it was gone this morning, just curious if it was a forum member that grabbed it up

I have a P12 that does all I need, I also have a Torus AVR 20 if I ever overload the p12 which hasn’t happened so far

Well fuses are also a trip to the fun house. But one can just buy a whole fun house too for the price of a modest set of audiophile cables, amps, and speakers. Fuses are still a bargain.
