Stack Audio AUVA Isolators

What difference does that make to you? I put my new Marantz Link 10n on a base as the Auva EQ I previously used wasn’t suitable for the weight. At the time, I had the feeling with the Edge that the Auva EQ offered a slightly more precise representation, but that the Base was a bit smoother in the midrange.

I have only found this with my CD transport. Here the sound is more open, airy, detailed.
Everything else in my system is best with the Auvas.

Yes, there are a few instances where I think the VooDoo Cable IsoPods do something a bit better, at least pleasantly different, than the EQ feet. My turntable may favor the IsoPods, but after adding the new NEO Mk2 power supply and replacing the belt with a new top of the line one (I was using the same belt a few years and it was time to rejuvenate) I think it’s really hard to tell, and moving the IsoPods to another system was a nice improvement. (What really has surprised me is using four IsoPods under my TV–Wow, a visible improvement in picture and a bit of an improvement in sound from other feet I was using).

Has anyone tried Voo-Pods or AUVA’s under their Rice Cookers? Whiter rice better texture I’m sure!!! Under a TV better picture?? I’m not buying but it’s an opinion. Upgraded power cable better picture no question but a footer???:thinking:

Try it. I have my Sony Bravia connected with a PS Audio AC-12–have for ten years or more, and that is connected to a P10. And from components to the TV from PS Audio HDMI 12 cabliing. Each step has yielded benefits. I find that clean power and isolation attention improves video playback and the audio aspects. And when you feed clean power to the TV and the source you can see and hear the effects of isolation components.

Yep. I lost my card to the audiophile club with that one, but the sound quality with tweeters lined up directly at ear level…priceless.

How much height does the Auva 100 add to a speaker? I’d like to order their top of the line footers for my speakers but I’m thinking it’s going to raise the tweeter to high above my ear, plus the overall size might not look to aesthetically pleasing on my mid sized floor standers.

The Auva 100 including screws is just under 5 cm high (1,9685 zoll ). Take into account that your old feet are no longer necessary. In my case, the old feet were a little higher, so my tweeter is now a little lower from the floor.

You will need to add more to height dimension if you add the spikes. There are spike height choices. You can also request lounger bolts (or get from Amazon) to raise the rear and tip down the speaker. Easy stuff.

So about 2" higher, minus the 1" footers that come standard on my speakers, so would raise the height of my speakers by 1", so it shouldn’t be an issue.

My listening room floor is carpet and pad over a concrete slab, so I would think I’d need the spikes, although it doesn’t look like you’re using spikes on your setup, so maybe not.

I am using spikes. Two different heights. Carpet over concrete. Better with spikes.

I have 100’s on my speakers, which have 8" wide baffles and ~12" outriggers. They look like absolute clown shoes. I’ve made my peace with it

I will do a combo post here. I tried the AUVA footers under the feet on the PowerZone per @weedeewop and I have to say there is definitely an improvement with this set up a nice discovery for sure! So my next upgrade is the AUVA footers I ordered 2 sets. One for the PZ and the other for the MU1. A new rabbit hole to go down!

The special Stack EQ under the special stock feet of PZ will be special double-whammy. I cannot say that’s the case for other components since I have EQ under body anywhere else.

PST still has Chinese stillpoints under the body, and I have yet to find a better special feet for it.

Time to hike Mt. Fuji, I wish.

Did you find any more good music?

We spent a couple of hours in Tower Records in shinjuku before we left for Lake Kawaguchiko. They didn’t have too many SACDs and I have most of the popular ones. I bought a few that I’m not familiar with. If I have time I’ll check Ginza area after going back to Tokyo tomorrow.

With respect to considering AUVA isolators for the FR10 speakers, I asked the folks at Stack Audio for additional advice. Josh recommended either the AUVA70 or AUVA100, depending on how much vibration control I wanted. Based on both cost and the size of the AUVA pucks, I think that the AUVA70 is a better match for the FR10s since the cost is more reasonable and the larger pucks would look massive sitting under the FR10s.

In terms of spikes, Josh suggested using medium spikes, but he recommended ordering spikes of several different lengths if I wasn’t sure what would work best for me.

Overall, I was very pleased with the quick and detailed response from Josh at Stack Audio. I’m going to tweak my speaker placement further and break in the FR10s a bit more before I decide whether to order a set of AUVA isolators, but I’m definitely leaning in that direction. Thanks for all the great advice from people contributing to this thread.
