This is the way the PWT used to work. Once resident on the SD card text and cover art would display whether or not the internet was connected.
Hi Six, did you get the issue with the Bruce Springsteen tracks resolved
Barry is sending me that code any day now.
Thanks⊠Work in progress. Have you experienced the quirk with any other CDs or is it just the Brucie tracks ?
Yes,
I agree IF there is internet connectivity that the DMP needs to check the server for updates. If there is no connectivity it should bypass the check step and pull up what it has on the SD card the way the PWT used to. Metadata does not come into the picture once the tracklist and coverart are datafilled on the server and that information is stored on the SD card.
I have never come across another though I am sure somewhere in my collection there may be another that behaves the same way. My DMP has been behaving well and sounding great with 3.13. This little bug is minimal. I love being able to play SACDâs and CDâs without having to reboot to get the DSD to the DAC. My cover art has been showing up for all the disks that I have fed the DMP including the ones I created from records. That is why that is important to me as I spent allot of time programming them.
I can see why that would be important re: cover art, etc⊠I, too, am very happy with 3.13 and I havenât had a single problem⊠Usability and functionality the best it has ever beenâŠ! Hallelujah.
I received the new code tonight. I loaded it up and tested it briefly. He corrected that issue. I need to do more testing but so far so good!
I hope, it will be available soon to everyone and - very important to me! - will bring back DSD downsamplingâŠ
Six, how is the new code panning out ? Is it an improvement in other areas?
So far so good. The only thing I did find is that it does not down sample the SACD when the HDMI cable is disconnected from the DAC. This is not an issue for me but is to someone using a non PS Audio DAC. Also if you go into settings the config is not appearing to show the DAC connections. The sound is the same as 3.13.
What was the issue that was corrected?
Cheers, John.
The last issue had to do with direct accessing track 7 on Bruce Springsteens Tunnel of Love CD. The DMP would decide to play track 1 instead. If I had attempted to select track 7 again it would play 7 with the track info of track 1 and no progress bar. The latest code took care of that for me.
So software had to be jigged to fix an issue with one song on one CD only? That sounds a bit odd. Or was it a global fix for all issues of progress bar not displaying (because that happened with other CD as well)?
I canât say that it was disk specific. I knew that disk could cause the issue. It is the one I used to create the log that allowed Barry to see what was going on. It may or may not have globally fixed the progress bar issue. To tell you the truth I have not seen the progress bar issue in a long time.
Hi, Six. There are a few features I donât use one of them being displaying the cover art, etc⊠This morning Iâve connected my DMP to the network and ran the gauntlet of features and everything Iâve tried is working just fine. One thing I do like with 3.13: I now donât get a feeling of trepidation when I reboot the DMP - like I did with 3.10, where the transport appeared to be dead as a dodo then 20 seconds or so later the DMP would miraculously kick into lifeâŠ!
With earlier code I was on red alert waiting on some familiar spectre to rear its ugly head, since installing 3.13 its cleansing power has removed all the ghosts in the machineâŠ
After two turbulent years I am now at a point where I am happy and content with my DMP. N.B: Mr beef âI can do Happyâ⊠and who knows, someday I might experience the same sensation reading one of your posts - but only after three year linguistic course and a full frontal
Thatâs good to see. My happiness is on the way soon, no trepidation anticipated.
Exactly⊠No two year process for you with a new transportâŠ! Luckily the DMP only costs a paltry 6K !!
Dirk, I too feel much better when the boot does not resemble a DOA for that long dark screen. I too am much more satisfied with the operational performance of the DMP. Barry has done a great job of ridding the ghosts in the machine for sure. Now we can just listen and enjoy which is something I thought I was going to do when I bought the DMP. To be honest I have enjoyed helping with bringing the DMP up to the operational level that it now is running at. I did the easy part finding and logining issues. Barry did all the hard work correcting the code and timing issues. In the end it was all worth it to me!
