Yes - it’s all good now, Six. But it has been one long, hard road to reach the end !!
Some of us ran off that bumpy road along the way and landed, not in the ditch, but on a nice flat paved road to somewhere else. All happy in the end. Splendid.
A nice golden paved road that cost way more than most of us can afford to travel and it may not even end up in the same place as far as the sound goes! The DMP sounds fantastic and it did not require a second mortgage to get there!
The DMP sounded fantastic for sure, especially when it worked. Which regrettably wasn’t always when I wanted it to. But reliability improved over time, to their persistence and credit. Life shouldn’t be that difficult for owners of consumer electronics. Most have an expectation that what they buy works as intended on day 1. The siege of Stalingrad was over quicker than the siege of DMP, which still isn’t over for those who expect cover arts to work properly.
“And it wasn’t as bloody”…
I am one of the biggest pushers for the proper function of the cover art. My DMP is working perfectly with that function now! All the thousands of CD’s and SACD’s and the CDR’s i created from vinyl are all showing up consistently.
Cool. You’re tempting me to buy another DMP.
As I reported. ALL present and correct. Just ignore Mr B. He now realises he should have kept the marvellous DMP His loss !!!
I can take or leave cover art, personally. When I first purchased my DS DAC and DMP, I had both connected to my home network. However, since ditching the Bridge II, I disconnected both appliances from my network. I did so out of fear that the ethernet signal/Bridge hardware could possibly inject noice into the hardware thus degrading sound quality.
I imagine this has been discussed at least once, maybe many times. Anyone recall conclusions from users or Ted himself?
I’ll trade you my DMP for the Esoteric stuff…
Ted doesn’t use the bridge, Jeff. That probably partly answers your question. But I am only surmising.
You never said how much cash you wanted as well to redress the balance…?
You’re right Dirk. Plus 39k.
I couldn’t afford the shipping. The disc spinner alone weighs 51kg.
That seems about right but Mr B pays shipping from AU and pays custom taxes…
Ok,I will make a compromise then. I’ll pay shipping if that helps you out some…
You are jumping the gun. Relax. Think straight.
I don’t know what got into me…
Pesky gremlins me thinks.
Having now thought about it, his stuff runs on 120V, my stuff runs on 240V. So the trade-plan is sunk me thinks. I’ll just have to slum it with the Esoteric.
Just a rush of blood. Mr B is the one benefiting from the deal …
