Elk, I can’t for the life of me see what Dephonator has said that offended you? Apart from the silly misunderstanding about him getting banned - unless you have pulled posts before I read them. I know it isn’t anything to do with me, I am just confused, having been involved from the start of this thread…

There was no misunderstanding regarding Dephonator being banned. He created a separate account with a user name including the word “banned” because he was upset with the forum software’s anti-spam/trolling features. I deleted his “Dephonator - banned” avatar account and switched all of his posts to his original avatar, “Dephonator.”
Please note we have never banned anyone.
I appreciate emotions run high, but one can express strong opinions while still being respectful of all.

I will take stock as well. It is easy to get carried away in ‘the instant’ then regret what an idiot you look when you read back your post. At least I had the good grace to make amends with oddeophile .
You handled that wonderfully and graciously. It takes character to do so.
This forum has always had a different vibe than most others. Many not only tolerate but thrive on hurling insults. It is easy for discourse to devolve unless we all make an effort.

Very true. I learn something new everyday. good and bad.
The problem when skipping to the next track and no sound appears to have been solved when James brought me a new DMP, and DSD as well. Also solved is the lack of handshake between the DMP and DSD. Glad I hung in there, because everything is sounding incredible. Also want to make note here, the level of customer service I received from PS Audio. It’s the best I’ve ever experienced from any manufacture in all the years I’ve been in this hobby. Thank you Paul and company!

Not sure if you are having the same issue I did, but when I loaded 3.06, SACD’s were playing at 24/88. I discovered that I had to go into the settings menu on the DMP and set the SACD setting to “SACD Stereo” to get DSD resolution. When it was set to “SACD muli” (I think that was the terminology), the SACD layer was playing at 24/88.
Once I get the setting right, things worked as expected. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your suggestion. My unit was set to SACD Stereo. I tried setting it to Red book. Loaded a CD than changed setting back to SACD Stereo. Still same issue. The last thing I tried was someone elses suggestion of doing a touchpad calibration. So far it has been working. I hold my breath every time I put in a SACD after playing a bunch of CD’s. It is great that everyone shares their finds this way we have a better chance of getting the results we want!

Glad to hear my little discovery wasn’t just a fluke.
I had ejected a disc on the DMP tonight and the “Insert Disc” screen failed to appear. Instead, the information from the last disc remained, showing track “1”. I am not sure if this is an identified problem, but figured I would mention it in case it has not. I rebooted and went ahead and did the screen calibration version of the reboot to get things back to normal.
I, too, recalibrated the touch screen. Cured the quirk I had with SACDs. Good one !
So much for the touch screen recalibration fix. i just put Dire Straits SACD in and it came up PCM 24 bit 88khz! I knew that was too good to be true! Hope they get a handle on what is causing this issue.
