Looks good, would need several drops of water, at that proof, but that’s alright. I have lots of eyedroppers for just such a purpose.
I mix Riptide 118 at one to one. I drink most whiskey at a target proof of around sixty proof. Goes down well.
Two must visits… Roland Geyer and make sure you try his Auxerrois. Second place is Ottrott and try their Rouge de Ottrott, the most unique red I’ve ever had!!!
Or you could step out into next room and whisper “water”
Some of the worlds best wines: vendanges tardives. I have several in my cellar!
Thank you @ANONYMOUS for the tip. I will definitely try the vendanges tardives.
Phil’s Alsace trip day 2.
Tonight, Pinot noir rosé with pate and wild boar.
Crémant d’Alsace with cherry liquor for aperitif.
Nougat glacé for desert.
There’s no scale in the hotel, thank God, but I think I will have a bit of surprise when I go back home and weight myself
.
Tonight it’s Gewurtztraminer, and then Riesling, followed by a Poire.
A whole bottle for my wife and myself.
With due credit to Edward Gibbon (author of The decline and fall of the Roman Empire): « overindulgence of the worst kind ». To quote him again, I will be falling soon into « a supine torpor ».
Given the other two, I suspect you will start with a sweet Gewürztraminer.
It is good to know what one likes.
Absolutely correct. We are done with the Gewurtz and Riesling, and savoring the Poire (it’s past 9pm). The supine torpor is next.
Plan!
It’s amazing how satisfying lemon water can be.
Nice wine tasting at Hugel (Alsace) yesterday.
We visited a relatively new distillery near Norwich, the casks on the left are imported from Jim Beam, the ones on the right are old sherry casks. They make a wide variety of whiskies and whisky liquers, bought a few bottles of Bourbon Cask.
Had a couple of nice gins at an appropriately named pub/restaurant last night. The Bathtub Gin was particularly nice. Very spicy.
