So I guess your funds will have 24k less when you leave…but remember to listen to the Aquilar, too. It’s also available as 12“ and a bit cheaper. The manufacturer says he roughly knows about 5 setups per country where he thinks it’s possible to hear quality differences between those arms and as he’s familiar with many more crazy systems than we imagine, ours won’t be among them.
Another review also showed it depends on the system which to prefer, both have strengths. Both will show you a new level of 3D and speed/control in one. I’d say the strength of those arms is to combine the 3D of the best pivot with the control of the best gimbal arms.
My next upgrade is geographic, just the other side of the basement but its a totally different space. Unfortunately it was not built with listening in mind. I would have done may things differently during construction otherwise. I’ll have to live with it. Paint is done. I have a new rack coming this week and numerous room treatments on order. I have been doing some sound clips as I go so once it is done I can post some before, during and after pics and videos. In this pic, its an echo chamber. I laid 2 rugs down and its amazing what a difference that made alone. The room is 12’3" by 28’. It will be HiFi on one end and home office on the other. On the HiFi end I have 2 dedicated 20 amp runs of 10ga wire, one with 2 PSAudio plugs (4) and one with one Furutech plug for the P15 and one fiber optic for the audio switch. I am expecting to have to tweak a lot to get it to sound great and I am lazy so I’m not looking forward to that. Ill be back later with more.
Have fun.
Such a blessing to be able to start from scratch to set up a listening area.
Looking forward to more pictures…
There’s an ad on Audiogon for a pair of BHK 300’s. In the ad it states:
“Just in on trade and just back from ps audio to be fully updated is this less than 6 month old pair of locally traded in PS audio BHK 300 mono block. WE are a authorize PS audio dealer so buy with confidence.”
Aside from the typos, and the fact that there are no USA PSA dealers, does anyone know what “fully updated” means when it comes to the 300’s?
Albert is a well known dealer from the Chicago area, but I don’t know him or his son well enough to know if they are bending the meaning of “repaired” with “updated”.
An SR Purple fuse is on the way to replace the Orange fuse in my Nordost QB-8 power distributor.fed by an SR Atmosphere Level 3 HC…
Albert has been sitting on those BHK’s for a long time. He also has a PST which was a good deal until PSA just had their sale then it wasn’t. He usually has lots of PS Audio products and lots of Wilson Audio. I think he meant former PS Audio dealer.
Agree as to the former. Wasn’t aware of any “updates” on the amps. If you are interested I would call the PSA service department and see what they say. Shipping on those two boxes is going to be brutal at today’s prices.
He also has a P15 he’s been sitting on for a while,
I have been considering waiting for the 600’s to be released and seeing if a 9/10 Silver pair of 300’s come up for sale anywhere between Vancouver BC and San Francisco, maybe as far east as Las Vegas. All within striking distance from Portland for a fun road trip.
I am sure the road trip will end up costing more than the shipping, but I wouldn’t mind getting out of town for a few days. Might as well make use of being triple jabbed.
Might as well order 600s and invest your gambling loss on a sure bet if you plan to drive to Vegas.
I normally don’t go to LV other then for a conference or as a stop over on the way to somewhere else like Sedona. While there I don’t gamble, but I do go eat at some of the excellent restaurants. Breakfast at Bouchon is awesome.
Delighted with my recent HDMI purchase.
Here you go. Silver $7k free shipping. BHK 300’s on Audiogon
I am visiting my audio guru George at Kyomi Audio in Chicago today. I am worried.
Hey aangen…
Why are you worried ?
Alfred E. Neuman the “What me worry?” guy…he never worried…
However visiting an audio store…are you worried something
will follow you home? hmmmm.
Best wishes
Hey, Al.
Can I bother you to take a picture or two of the set up at the dealer that you find particularly noteworthy or excellent during this sojourn.
Just a thought…
Have fun.
In the meantime, Scott, a picture from our audio show in Brussels, for the enjoyment of the Hi Fi Family:
7/10 (too low) and in Texas (too far to drive).
Thanks for thinking of me. Sooner or later the right sale will appear. In the meantime our 250 is sounding very fine.
Alas, most of us common folk wish we had your worries
