Audio Magic M2 vs SR Pink fuse, Owners thoughts and observations here please

Do you try wearing different color shoes to see what that does?

Maybe the M2 is as good or the MU2’s power supply is more sophisticated and less vulnerable. Do power cables make a significant difference on the Mu2? Maybe it’s because of your positive emotions today that the sound came across so well.

Almost did that on a golf course, and I ended up just wearing my sneakers; did okay other than wet feet.

Once PZ is here, I will compare Dragon HC to Source on MU2 again.

Did you translate to English on the other thread yetšŸ™„

Curious if anyone has tried SDFP on LHY Switch?

Some more updates on M2
Farad power supply - excellent match, basically extending the sound qualities of the Farad. It’s a lot of $ relative to the Farad itself, but the jump in performance is well worth it.
Sbooster - replacing purple - very surprised by this. The M2 is more relaxed, took away a lot of excess energy/sharpness, yet dynamics are still strong and the sound is far more natural.
Cary amp - replacing M1 main fuse - similar sound with greater soundstage & resolution. I run directstream mk1 direct to amp. Each generation of AM fuses has reduced the hiss heard when no music is playing. With the M2 the hiss is just about gone.

I put an Audio Magic M-2 fuse in my Grimm MU2. A week later and if it makes a difference, it’s subtle. I don’t mind it being there, but I didn’t mind it not being there as well.

Among the four M-2 fuses, the one in MU2 made the least improvement. In fact, I am not sure if the improvement I heard was not from the break-in process of MU2 itself because I put it in one week later.

M2 fuses made more improvement on DS MK2, PST, and even on a network switch.

Hi all,

New member here. Enjoyed reading this thread and figured I’d share my experience with the M2 fuse so decided to become a member.

Only PSA product I own is the P20 but I put in an M2 fuse to replace stock and after sufficient burn in time, see improvement in air around instruments, more detail and denser sound without exaggeration or brightness.

I then replaced SR Orange fuse with M2 in my Auralic Vega G2/Leo GX DAC/Clock combo. Sound became much more refined and now I have more warmth but more detail. The orange lacked some detail and was more flat soundstage and more up front in your face sound with exaggerated brightness and overemphasized tones.

Glad to make the fuse changes and I like it in my system.

Hi,

I’m at the 200 hour mark now with 2 SR Pinks. 1 in my LPS and 1 in my streamer. I am comparing them to my QSA Yellow’s. I like the Pinks a lot. Nicer 3D soundstage, more holographic. Better layering in the bass, more vivid midrange and kick.
But the treble is off the chart now. It’s hurting my ears and is way to hot.

Will the treble / highs mellow out over time? Say @ 300h more of a stable sound?

More desireable only to those who prefer silver.

Wolff … I’m afraid the answer is unknowable, as every system is different.
How the Pink interacts with your speakers, amplifier, interconnect cables will be different to everyone else’s system.
In my system, with many hours on my Pinks I’m very happy with the top end, so I’d hope that yours’s mellows out a bit as they bed in further.

Yes upward of 300h perhaps 400 or more hours …
Well worth the burn in angst…I have both Pink and
Masters as well and are now fully burned in and sound
amazing!!!

So don’t give up…keep it burning in…it’ll get there eventually.

Best wishes

I have at least 500 hours on the M2 I put in my Grimm MU2. I never heard any change.

An unexpected lightening strike this past summer took out the SR purple in my BHK pre. It did its job and sacrificed its life! Replaced it with an AM M2. It made an immediate impact right from the start. My ears/ system couldn’t tell me if it got better with hours, but it didn’t need to! DSD Mk II will be next after the new year.

MU2 is so good that even a mighty M2 fuse could not improve it much. I have four M2 in the system, and they are doing a fantastic job in bringing SQ to a higher level.

But I must agree M2 did the least in MU2. In fact, I do not want to take it out to find out the truth.

I thought you were doing the sluggo electronic fuse box thingy? Maybe it went bye wit your Gryphon power manager? But good to hear your using M-2s too. I do say stability is hard to track reading your posts. I bet your wife would hide the Kama Sutra book if you were gifted it for Christmas. :face_with_peeking_eye:

Thank goodness PZ doesn’t need any fuse! The FB and pigtail went to a well known member here. However, I’m not sure if he is using it since he never posted any comment yetšŸ¤”

Very glad you like M2, I don’t have any Master anymore since I sold Lumin U2.

No change until our trip in January. I promise!
