Interesting that SR have not gone down the usual route of giving a different color to their new fuse, it now has a name.
I presume this is to give the fuse a ‘fresh start’.
As it seems to expand the soundstage I presume a good place to start trying these fuses is in the amplifier, which I think is what you are doing.
Please keep us informed on your thoughts as the new fuses break in.
@sheridd2 It’s interesting that my SR dealer suggests that I replace the Master Fuse in my BACCH-SP with the Holographic Fuse as well and suggests moving the Master Fuse somewhere downstream like to a power supply.
Could it be the case that they’re turning on their Master??
It’d be interesting to see how the new fuse compares to a graphene sluggo. Replacing purples/masters with breakers (+ graphene sluggo when required) was an easy choice.
I always felt like the boutique fuses degraded in performance over time.
edit: hadn’t kept up with vera-fi’s downhill slide over the last few months. seems like the graphene sluggo’s no longer an option.

My personal experience confirms it. I had AM M1 fuses and SR Purple fuses in my previous system which consisted of mostly BHK components. After using these fuses for over a year, they did not sound superior to stock fuses anymore. This could only mean these fuses SQ had degraded. In fact, on a BHK gear (don’t remember which one) I preferred stock fuse a year or more later. So, PSA uses good fuses and expensive fuses may not be worth it was my conclusion.
That said, AM M2 fuses still sound better than any stock fuse after one year, and by a large margin too.
I have a Pink fuse, and so far I still hear a difference from stock.
Can you say a bit about how the pink SR fuse differs from the stock fuse?
The Pink fuse, in MU2, brought in an extra level of clarity and detail that is clearly superior than the stock fuse. Compared to M2 fuse resided in it before, the sound is more neutral. M2 fuse made MU2 sounded a bit too warm to my liking (very little, at first I did not think there was much difference in SQ) and Pink fuse has corrected this issue for me. It also gives a better defined soundstage in my system.
However, AM M2 fuse improved PMG 512 more than the Stock and Pink. The SQ is fuller and warmer that PMG seems to need.

Hmm, the price is the same as the pink. I quite like that they didn’t increase it.
@andynotadam, I know you haven’t done the 200 hours burn in yet but I’d appreciate your thoughts as to how the holographic fuse is settling in?
@sheridd2 The Holographic Fuses aren’t shipping until August first, so maybe I have negative hours on them?
I will definitely pipe up here on them when I receive them…

I had a Purple fuse in my Powerplant 3 that just stopped working. I replaced it with an AM M1, which has been fine for several years.
Ted Denny of SR stated in a recent Facebook post that all fuses degrade over time…
The previous post was suggesting rapid deterioration, resulting in substantial SQ loss in only a year. My AM fuses definitely don’t behave like that.
