Audio Magic M2 vs SR Pink fuse, Owners thoughts and observations here please

Ah. I was confused. :upside_down_face:

Interesting observation. With the recent questions regarding Pink direction I decided to flip it around. This after about 120 hours of operation. I can’t explain it, but now the difference in direction to me is all but non-existent. It really is too small to care about (again, for me). Is it possible SR has determined a way to make the fuse less dependent on orientation? Is it possible after hundred(s) of hours of alternating current going through Pink that it becomes more ā€œevenā€? Who knows? :man_shrugging: But with this recent test I found it to be for all intents and purposes the same in both directions. I swapped it back around to where it had been, and leaving it there.

I think the AC AC-ing the fuse is like the massage I got today. My back and neck feel wonderful.

I just ordered two Pinks for my new AGD Gran Vivaces. I will probably have eight days of continuous break-in on the amps by the time the fuses arrive. The AGDs are terrific by the way…

@vmax, have you reached a conclusion as to which you like better, M-2 fuse or a silver hollow sluggo? But you do not have FB installed so it may not be a fair comparison anyway.

SDFB turned out to be a more expensive option because the pigtail (weak bass as one of the weakness, for example) needs upgrade in my case, and a set of Furutech NCF costs far more than FB itself (and potentially more expensive options out there as you know).

I have not swapped the combo yet. Maybe this weekend after I return from So Cal. The silver hollow sluggo improved after some run in compared to M-1 in the router LPS.

testing new Pink against Purple in my Aurender
it’s new level - lower noise floor, more body, more bass, more expansive soundstage, more musical
first 50 hours of breaking in HF are little bit closed but it ends with fuse burning in

Did I mention I’m no longer interested in fuses anymore?

Ops…

Where’s M-2? I’m expecting a review from someone.

I might have sprung for one if I hadn’t incorporated the SDFBs. I’m done with fuses.

My aim is to compare Purple vs Pink both in my Innuos Statement and PhoenixNET. I promise a chart for that purpose (if I’ll hear enough differences)…

M2 is not in my plans, I liked the Purples over the M1s with these components and, as you know, I no longer have regens in my system where I found the kinks were better.

Why am I doing that? Who knows, maybe to stay away from other expensive cables (I’m still waiting a Dream V18 from STEALTH). Delivery time is becoming very very long lately. My wallet is happy.

Interesting for PSA gear M-1 and M-2 work better it seems.

Is there a long wait for Stealth PC? I am looking hard to jump into Stealth trap but vacation spending stops me. But I ran into another forum that you were heavily involved. It seems some people like C.G. (Copper) better than 20/20 even for AC conditioners/generators. Have you tried to put your C.G. with P20 (not sure if you still have one )?

As soon as I’m done with my get-together on Saturday I’ll start seeing how the M-2 sounds in my P20, currently using the Pink (which is better, but only slightly, than the M-1).

Nice! You have Pink too. Looking forward to hearing your comparison between M-2 and Pink. I’m done with one FB, the pigtail business made me want to go back to fuses again.

Unfortunately I no longer have a P20 in my system, Donald! I can’t help you with this…

IME I’m sure the best result I got with CG Copper was powering the server/streamer (let me say even more than powering the DAC itself: that surprised me a lot). having a 20/20 plugged into my amp I really don’t want to experiment more with it, I’m sooo happy.

If I ever try a new power cord for Puritan (yes you are tempting me) this should be a 20/20 anyhow. Not my intention in the immediate future.

Currently delivery times are around 6-8 weeks, whereas in the past they were 4 weeks.

I could never believe I am not done with power cords. (so happy with AQ Dragons and ZenWave). Now I’m thinking which Stealth I should get, a 20/20 for Puritan or a Cloude Grande for trying out on other gears (even Puritan w/ adapter). My wife is smart to spend enough on vacation so I am only on the planning stage.

Luca, without your enthusiasm on Stealth (and the mastermind behind all the Stealth craziness, Al!) I will never consider buying a cord way more expensive than a gear it serves of course. Maybe you and Al have something to do with how busy they are. I never received any email back regarding my question (twice).

did you sell you power Dragon’s?

Yep! Since I tried STEALTH cables I felt in love with their cords. Only the transport, phono pre and TT PSU are still powered by Dragons. Mainly because I rarely use them.

M-2 has arrived…

I ordered two Pinks for my AGD Gran Vivaces. They should be here in the next day or two…
