Hmm… My update from 3.6.83(beta) to 3.6.86 worked well via update-button.
Thanks for the link! Yes, in my case it doesn’t work automatically…no idea why…but now I have it.
Also a “no-go”, unfortunately. Mconnect Bridge II Device Setup page has a note at the bottom that says “Firmware update server is not available.”
FYI/FWIW.
I changed the Bridge II firmware about 10 times. And there was never a problem.
Take a windows computer, run MConnectSetup.exe, download the 3.6.86 firmware and make it as I decribed here. Then you’re done.
MConnect update worked for me. Unfortunately the DSF file skip 3 seconded before the end of a track using Jriver isn’t fixed … have to get back to TJ. It didn’t occur in Firmware 2.8.1 (tried it by going back to it) and was introduced some later time.
No “windows computer” available in mi casa. But glad to hear you have a work around.
This is my first real* glitch ever updating anything with my DS Sr. and Bridge cards (I or II).
I am sure I’ll get it sorted, eventually.
Thanks.
*I did have to do a back and forth from Snowmass to previous firmware and back to Snowmass to get that new firmware to “take”, though.
What is the protocol to update with MConnect on the DSJ? I tried the regular way of updating but its stuck at 0%…
Go to Settings, see update available, and accept. Took about 3 minutes on my DSJr.
I went to Mconnect on my ipad (the oly time I use Mconnect is to update firmware), it told me there was a new version and I pushed the update button. 5 minutes later, I was up and running.
I played some music through the bridge after that and it seems like it sound a little less etched, a little more analog like than it did before the update.
No complaints here.
Update went smoothly for me this morning per the instructions.
is there a download on the site i’m missing? looking to download to a stick drive on my mac.
Tried MConnect and while it said it downloaded and updated i now have no bridge at all???
Try power cycling the DAC
Thanks. Did that. Restarted the modem/router.
Etc, etc
Updated from Mconnect app on my Google Pixel 3a XL, worked perfectly. Did this update address Spotify connecting to the Bridge automatically and automatically turning on the Dac? I’m testing it and the unit seems like it’s not turning itself on when I open Spotify. It turns on when I select the Bridge in the Spotify app, as it should. I hope this sticks because it was my only qualm with the DS Dac. Also…is it just me or does it sound better after the update? Probably just in my mind lol, but I truly think it sounds better now… Thanks for this PS Audio!
Mine did the same thing a few upgrades ago but I have forgotten the fix. Someone else should chime in soon. You might try removing the cat5 cable, power cycle, plug the cat5 back in. You might also check mconnect again. It’s really a crappy upgrade process.
Is it possible to update the Bridge via MConnect using just an iPad, iPhone or Mac? I don’t have a windows machine.
When I go to MConnect on my iPad, no where does it state an update is available.
And the long press update on my DSJ itself is not working, it remains at 0%.
Thx
Yes it is I did it earlier today. You have to use the iPad or iPhone.
I have the iPad and paid version of MConnect. What do I do next? The DSJ is on.
From memory click on the wheel in the top left corner and go to the Bridge setup and it should show you an update is available.
