Congrats andy…how long a wait before it arrives?

If you enjoyed your SR Purple …the new SR Master is on a whole new and
different level…I know it will put a smile on your face…

Will a new, preposterously expensive fuse make you feel better?

Hey RonP it’s all a matter of perspective…while yes the SR Master at $600.00
thereabouts is expensive then have a look at these truly preposterously priced
fuses from QSR. As for me my SR Master has brought my system to a whole new
level and it is not even halfway to the recommended 300 hr burn in time…so far
it is beyond my expectation.

  • Violet $711
  • Red $1422
  • Red/Black $2844
  • Silver $4995

So it’s all relative…

So getting back on track here…

Now at about 120 hours run time my SR Master is showing more air more space
as well as spatial retrieval as well as definition mids and bass.

Listening to Center Stage…a Wilson Audio masterpiece with a phenomenal
story of how it got produced…

It had been a long long time since I had played it…from the opening of the
Olympic Fanfare the horns are amazing the tympani is such that you can
almost see the membrane rise and fall from the malet strike…
Too much goodness that I had not heard before

Reference Recordings: Aaron Copeland…The spread width height depth of this
recording comes to a much higher place play back performance with the new
SR Master fuse

Worth getting a copy!!

Best wishes everyone!!!

Hi, Unfortunately, Alfred won’t have the fuse value I need until some time next week…

How time fly when you’re having fun. Happy Anniversary, Luca!!

This SR Master is simply incredible!! It get better with time. It becomes more lucid and you can hear more the complete instrument and decay like never before. The highs extend forever and pops out with such substance and density. The real standout was the tight expressive powerful bass. I put back the M1 and the bass got a bit wooly and more ill-defined, the voices loose a bit of presence, and the highs more closed in. Pretty big difference! I also tried my turntable since the P20 is powering that too and what I can say, Wow, just like with digital, it made it sound more solid and extended also! The clincher for me is it does all this without adding fatiguing sharpness or brightness to the sound. Play {Rembrandt Trio} track 7 DSD257 with and without this fuse and you will know what I’m talking about. All that with just one fuse change. Hard to believe. $600 is a very cheap price to paid for this level of improvement.

When I’m cooking i put attention to the right equilibrium between sweetness and sapidity, exactly in the same way @davida @waymanchen11 what’s your first thoughts about the SR-M “other fuses in the chain”.

I mean, having a SR-M in P20, in your opinion which kind of fuses would you suggest to consider for other units? And why? Sprinkles a part!, it seems another SR-M is not really needed, so would be preferable adding more Purple spice or M-1 sugar, so to speak?

Once more, thank you all guys, after 2 years on this crazy band wagon you made me feel part of your audiophile life, joy and insanity! Hope one day to meet you in person to give something back to all of you, possibly cooking something special for you and with a “sprinkle” of italian wine in our glasses! Cheers!

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have a $100 discount with Hiighend-Electronics for 2023 and their shipments usually get to me here in NorCal in a couple of days.

I’ve been on vacation in Mexico for a week and tonight I am just now getting to hear my system again. Playing Holly Cole’s Temptation now, it seems like I got a system upgrade just from being away!

Al, don’t you have anything that uses fuses anymore or are have you abandoned listening to fuses all together. You know you are missing out on a lot of fun. Please come join the party.
